As a family-owned campground, Pigeon River Campground may offer promotions that are best discovered through direct contact. While specific, publicly advertised "specials" are not currently detailed due to its temporary closure for repairs, it's common for such establishments to provide:
-
Seasonal Rates: Pricing often varies by season, with potential lower rates during off-peak times.
-
Adventure Packages: Given its proximity to whitewater rafting, it's plausible they offer or partner for "adventure packages" that bundle camping with rafting trips or other local activities like ziplining, which can provide a cost-saving for a full experience.
-
Long-Term Stay Discounts: For those planning extended stays, inquire about potential weekly or monthly discounts.
The most important note regarding promotions is the campground's current status: it was impacted by a hurricane in 2024 and is planning to reopen in 2026. Therefore, any booking inquiries or promotional information will be relevant for that future period. It is highly recommended to "look forward to booking again as soon as you open in 2026" and contact them directly closer to their anticipated reopening for the most accurate information on rates and any potential re-opening specials.

We stayed here Memorial Day 2024. We had such a wonderful time. I was just reminiscing and went to book again for this summer. Hate to see you were impacted by the hurricane. I look forward to booking again as soon as you open in 2026. For those who may not have been yet, keep this great, family owned spot on your list for the future! There was so much to do and the location on the river is perfection.
It’s a nice campground! The kids loved the pool and the bouncy thing. The restrooms were very nice and clean! The hosts were very nice. We had requested a river site and wasn’t given one? As several remained open during the entire duration of our stay. Wondering how does one get a river site??? Other than that. It’s a great place!
This campground is amazing! I spent 11 days hiking and camping here and enjoyed every one of them. I really hope to come back. The tent spots are right on the river which is crystal clear and the temperature was perfect for swimming. Even though the private bathrooms were always clean, and the showers are really nice, I still used the river most mornings to rinse out my hair hahaha. The bamboo forest is beautiful, and the natural sounds coming from it at night is the perfect music to fall asleep to. It has a store with all the basic things you might need, and everyone who manages the facility knows the area well and is far beyond helpful. By the way, don’t forget to get a hillbilly flashlight, you might need it😂Every morning I looked forward to saying hi and checking in with what I was going to do that day. Cal and everyone else would often say something like “wait if you’re going to do that you should do these instead” and that’s how I found some of the coolest trails I went on. If you need something, they’ll get it to you or send you the right way. Don’t forget to do the white water rafting! Those guys love what they do, and it’s one of the biggest rafting rivers in America.
We absolutely loved it. We normally would not like staying close to the highway but we would do it again. I think it was because we had site G. We enjoyed the white water rattling next door. Only issue was restrooms!! They are very clean and loved them except your assigned to 2 and well some of the tent campers were too and liked to hang out there because of electricity and we felt so rushed to even get a shower.. Over all, except the restroom issue we had a great experience. Loved the river, the pool. We're even considering renting one of those cabins.. The people at the office/ store absolutely amazing.. I gave it a 5 even though the restrooms were a issue.. Not sure if tent people usually hog their assigned restrooms for electric purposes.. Such as cell charging and blowing up mattresses.. The mattress understandable but cell charging and keep knocking and knocking and every time we went we couldn't get into either one we were assigned .. Will definitely come back as I believe this was an isolated incident..
AMAZING! The location is EXCELLENT. Access to I40 within 2min drive. You stay right along Pigeon River and as a guest staying you receive a $14 discount on whitewater rafting at SMO next door. Our camp ground host was fantastic! The shower facilities were awesome and clean! During our stay it was uncrowded but that may vary depending on dates. Our last night (Tuesday) we were the only occupants in the park. Very peaceful and relaxing location.
