For local Pennsylvania families seeking a reliable, amenity-filled, and centrally located campground, the Pinch Pond Family Campground and RV Park in Manheim, PA, has been a cherished destination for over 40 years. Nestled in the scenic foothills of northern Lancaster County, this resort is perfectly positioned to serve as your comfortable base camp for exploring the best of South Central Pennsylvania, from the sweet attractions of Hershey to the timeless charm of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country. The campground accommodates a wide range of camping styles, ensuring that everyone, from tent campers to those with the largest RVs, can find a welcoming spot for their getaway.
The enduring appeal of Pinch Pond lies in its commitment to family fun and a robust schedule of planned activities. The friendly staff and family-centric vibe are consistently praised by guests. The resort goes above and beyond to keep campers engaged with annual events, seasonal celebrations culminating in a famous Haunted House near Halloween, and regular weekend staples like wagon rides, Bingo, and themed crafts for the kids. With facilities like a swimming pool, a private fishing pond, and an indoor game room, there is always something to do, rain or shine.
However, as local users, it is important to have a fully factual view of the site’s location. Pinch Pond is highly accessible, situated near major roadways like Interstate 76 (the Pennsylvania Turnpike). While this ensures easy access, it also means that campers, particularly those in sites nearest the perimeter or the fishing pond, will experience audible noise from the highway traffic. A more significant, recurring issue highlighted by customer reviews is the noise emanating from a nearby sportsman’s club or rifle range. Campers should be aware that high-caliber shooting can be heard daily, and while some guests adjust to the sound or are out exploring during the day, it is a significant factor for those seeking absolute tranquility at their campsite.
Despite the noise considerations, Pinch Pond remains a highly-rated family campground, largely due to its well-maintained sites, excellent amenities, and the dedication of its staff. The facilities are generally clean—with staff making continuous efforts to keep bathhouses well-maintained—and the sites themselves are spacious, offering both shady and sunny options, each equipped with a picnic table and fire ring. RV owners will particularly appreciate the full hookups with cable TV availability, and for those who don't have their own equipment, the variety of rental cabins offers a great alternative to traditional camping. For the Pennsylvania local, Pinch Pond is a convenient and entertaining retreat, provided they plan for the ambient noise from the surrounding area.

Campground was clean the bathhouse and bathroom facilities were not perfect but much better than a lot of campgrounds we have stayed at. The staff is friendly ice cream is great. Our spot 570 was just right for my camper. Like other people, the drawback is the noise from the highway, which you actually get used to. The gun range not so much. But my wife and I had a very enjoyable time. I went fishing every morning and caught sunfish and a bass.
Sep 24, 2025 · Rusty BarrIf you enjoy dogs barking and a rifle range next door this is the place for you. Campers were very nice and respectful, but the ones with dogs could care less . WW III next door was very enjoyable. Other than that the grounds are nice easy access to sites.
Aug 31, 2025 · Don DruryWe camped in our travel trailer so "rooms" should be n/a. Great arcade room. 25 cents to play ski ball!! My fave. Pool was clean and they use appropriate amounts of chlorine. Moderate size sites. Easy to navigate too. Local attractions. Pack your own entertainment during the week. Campground has hills. Bring bikes with gears. Cruiser bikes would be tough to pedal.
Jul 01, 2025 · Stephanie DanielsJust stayed here in my travel trailer for 3 nights. Nice, clean campground. My site was a roomy pull through all to myself with no neighbors. Didn’t realize the turnpike was so close and there was a shooting range next door so it was pretty noisy. Some of the seasonal sites were run down looking with old additions built onto them. Overall experience was ok, didn’t hate it but didn’t love it.
Jul 18, 2025 · Amber JohnsonFirst time at this campground, and it was the best relaxed time we've had. We went for my Bday weekend, and it was an awesome time. Staff ate very friendly and helpful, campground is very spacious. The site we had in the 600s, large and tons of room on both sides. Had to level about 2in side to side, but that's nothing. Nice shade, trees on both sides. I'm definitely coming back here and enjoy the summer when the pool opens.
