Finding the right RV park that meets your needs for comfort, accessibility, and amenities can make all the difference to your travel experience. In the heart of Augusta, Georgia, you'll find Plantation Oaks RV Park, a local establishment that aims to provide a spot for those traveling with their recreational vehicles.

This article is designed to give you a detailed, factual overview of Plantation Oaks RV Park from the perspective of a local Georgian. We understand the importance of clear, reliable information when planning your RV adventures, and we're here to help you determine if Plantation Oaks is the right fit for your next journey.

Introduction / Overview

Plantation Oaks RV Park is situated in Augusta, Georgia, offering a place for RV enthusiasts seeking a spot within the city's bounds. As an RV park, its primary function is to provide essential hookups and a designated space for recreational vehicles. While it might be smaller in scale compared to some larger, resort-style campgrounds, it serves the purpose of offering a stopping point for RVers. The park aims to cater to those looking for a relatively quiet environment within an urban setting.

It's important for potential visitors to understand that while all RV parks provide a fundamental service, their features and suitability can vary greatly depending on the size and type of RV. Plantation Oaks, based on feedback from some visitors, appears to have characteristics that might be more accommodating to certain types of RVs than others. The park's commitment is to offer a basic but functional space for the RV community in Augusta.

Location and Accessibility

Plantation Oaks RV Park is conveniently located at 2285 Plantation Rd, Augusta, GA 30906, USA. Augusta, Georgia, is a significant city in the state, known for its rich history, the Masters golf tournament, and its position along the Savannah River. This location offers relatively easy access to various local attractions, dining options, and essential services in Augusta, making it a practical choice for those wanting to explore the city without venturing too far.

Access to the park from major roadways would typically involve navigating Augusta's local streets. As with any urban RV park, it's always advisable for RVers, especially those with larger rigs, to review the approach routes to ensure comfortable maneuvering. While the address places it within a generally quiet part of town, potential visitors should consider the size and maneuverability of their RV in relation to the reported characteristics of the property.

Services Offered

Based on the standard offerings of an RV park, Plantation Oaks would typically provide the following essential services to its guests:

  • RV Hookups: The primary service of any RV park is to offer designated spots with connections for water, electricity, and sewer. These hookups are crucial for the functioning of an RV's internal systems, allowing campers to have access to essential utilities during their stay. It's important to note that the suitability and configuration of these hookups can vary.
  • Designated Parking Spaces: Each guest is provided with a specific site for their RV. These spaces are intended to offer a secure and defined area for parking and setting up. The dimensions and ground conditions of these spots are key considerations for RVers.
  • Short-Term and Potentially Long-Term Stays: RV parks often cater to both transient travelers staying for a night or two, as well as those looking for extended monthly stays. Plantation Oaks, with its pricing structure mentioned in some feedback, appears to offer options for longer durations.
Features / Highlights

When considering an RV park, specific features can greatly influence your decision. Based on available information, here are some points to consider regarding Plantation Oaks:

  • Quiet Location: Feedback suggests the park is situated in a quiet part of town. This can be a significant advantage for RVers seeking a peaceful environment away from the direct hustle and bustle of city traffic, while still being within city limits.
  • Proximity to Augusta Amenities: Being located in Augusta means guests have relatively easy access to local shops, restaurants, medical facilities, and tourist attractions that the city offers. This convenience can be a major highlight for those who wish to explore the area.
  • Basic Functionality: The park provides the fundamental necessities for RV camping, including hookups. For travelers whose priority is simply a place to park with essential services, this could be a suitable option.

However, it is also important to acknowledge certain considerations highlighted by past visitors:

  • Size and Maneuverability Concerns: Some feedback indicates that the campground is quite small, and maneuvering larger RVs (over 30 feet) might be challenging. This is a critical factor for owners of bigger rigs to consider before booking.
  • Hookup Configuration: There have been mentions of "odd" connections for hookups that may not seem to be standard for campers. It would be advisable for potential guests to inquire about the specific type of connections available to ensure compatibility with their RV.
  • Ground Conditions: Reports of "soft mud" in the spots suggest that the ground conditions, especially during or after rain, could be problematic for getting an RV in and out without difficulty or potential damage.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information on any current promotions, seasonal discounts, or long-term stay rates, it is always recommended to contact the park directly using the provided contact information.

Very small campground. If you have a camper over 30 feet, I would not recommend. Seems to be in a quiet part of town, but you absolutely cannot maneuver in this little plot of land. Connections for hookups are odd and don’t seem to be for campers. Spots are completely soft mud, so getting into a spot will require you to completely tear your camper up. $650 a month for this campground is 100% not worth it

Well I can say right now I would think twice about this Campground I called I have a 30-footer 2013 that's been meant building cap and they had the nerve to tell all your campers too old so I guess this Campground just caters to the Rich and Famous that can have $1,000 campers I guess this Campground is not really for blue collar workers

HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT!!! Called made a reservation but had to cancel within 24 hours due to job canceled. Contacted the property which is ran by Pearson's Rental Properties they absolutely refused to refund us the $600.00 we paid when online in their policies NO where does it state that there is a cancellation fee or that they would not issue a refund. Anthony Pearson is the man I spoke with and was completely and utterly unprofessional. It states on their website it is family owened and operated which is untrue Anthony told me it was owned by investors!!! Do not do business with this park. Also every number listed for the property and for Pearson's Rental Properties goes to this mans phone when I asked to speak with someone else he told me No.

Had a last min job opportunity in the area starting days before The Masters Golf Tournament was to start.. I called multiple parks no one was able to accommodate us, or they were trying to WAYYYYY up charge. Terry was able to get us a wonderful, shaded, level spot for as long as we needed at a great price. We were far off the road and really enjoyed our stay. Would recommend getting picnic tables for the lots but this will always be my first call if ever in the Augusta area again.

Easy access. Wide interior roads. Level sites. Helpful friendly staff. Grumpy, unfriendly manager. Reasonable price. I will stay again.
