For those traveling from major metropolitan areas in Texas, the campground is easily accessible via well-maintained roadways. If you're coming from Dallas, simply take I-35 North to Sanger, then FM 455 East for approximately 10 miles until you reach the park. The campground's design minimizes through traffic, contributing to its peaceful ambiance. Being situated on its "own little outlet" means that only those staying at Quail Run, or visiting specific areas within this section of the park, will be utilizing its internal roads, ensuring a more tranquil and secure environment for campers. This deliberate planning enhances the feeling of a secluded retreat, even though essential services and attractions are still within a reasonable distance. The proximity to Ray Roberts Lake means many sites offer beautiful lake views, while others are just a short walk from the shoreline. As Quail Run Campground is part of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD) state park system, specific promotions and special offers are typically managed at the state park level rather than individual campground sites. While there aren't always ongoing, public-facing discounts solely for Quail Run, visitors to Ray Roberts Lake State Park – Isle du Bois Unit should be aware of potential cost-saving opportunities provided by TPWD.
One significant offer to consider for frequent Texas state park visitors is the Texas State Park Pass. For a single annual fee, this pass grants the pass holder and all occupants in their vehicle free entry to more than 80 state parks for one year. This can lead to substantial savings, especially if you plan multiple visits to Quail Run Campground or other Texas state parks throughout the year. It's important to note that the daily park entrance fee ($7 per person, per day, for ages 13 and older) is separate from any facility fees for campsites. The Texas State Park Pass waives these daily entrance fees, making your camping trip more economical.
Additionally, TPWD may occasionally run seasonal promotions or special events. It is always recommended to check the official Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website (tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/ray-roberts-lake) or contact the park directly before your visit. This will provide the most up-to-date information on any current discounts, special events, or booking incentives that might apply to your stay at Quail Run Campground. While there are no recurring "buy one night, get one free" type promotions typically associated with individual state park campgrounds, the value provided by the Texas State Park Pass for frequent visitors is considerable.

Nice, quiet, your campsites are not on top of each other, hot showers and they allow pets on leashes. There are lots of deer in and around camp. Qual run is on its own little outlet so there is very little through traffic. The camp staff is great and place is clean and well-maintained.
Nov 29, 2023 · David de LajuntaGreat camping area. Close to the lake from all sites and many with lake view. Several deer seen daily. Very peaceful and serene. Close to the beach, fishing pier and boat docks. Plenty of hike and bike trails.
Jun 08, 2023 · Michael TimpsonAbsolutely beautiful grounds, spot 150 has perfect view of the lake, lots of shade, and plenty of privacy from other campers. Electric and water is near the vehicle parking so great for rv but not if you plan to utilize the grounds without an RV. Best part is the wild life. Tons of deer. Had 1 deer come within 10 feet of us. We got to see a mama deer and her baby as well as, some bunnies and cardinals. Hope to see some more before we leave. have limited access to 5G, but great 4G. Close to the city if you forgot anything for your trip.
Oct 04, 2022 · Ashlyn AltonChoose your site carefully as some sites are right on top of each other, literally. Most sites are not very close to the shoreline and have many trees between the site and the water. Not really what most people want when camping on a lake. Texas state parks does a good job operating the park and keeping it clean.
