Promotions or Special Offers

As Bluestem Grove Equestrian Camping is a component of Ray Roberts Lake State Park, which is managed by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department (TPWD), any promotions or special offers are generally administered at the state park system level rather than being exclusive to Bluestem Grove. Therefore, individuals planning a visit to Bluestem Grove should explore the broader offerings from TPWD that can enhance their camping experience and potentially provide cost savings.

The most significant and widely beneficial offer for regular visitors to Texas State Parks is the Texas State Park Pass. For an annual fee, this pass grants the pass holder and all occupants in their vehicle free entry to more than 80 state parks across Texas for one year. This can result in considerable savings, as the daily park entrance fee (currently $7 per person, per day, for ages 13 and older, at Ray Roberts Lake State Park) is separate from any facility fees for campsites. The Texas State Park Pass effectively waives these daily entrance fees, making your multiple camping trips or day visits to any Texas State Park more economical.

It is important to note that while individual site-specific discounts or "buy one night, get one free" type promotions are not typically offered for state park campgrounds, TPWD may occasionally announce special events, seasonal programs, or educational opportunities that coincide with a visit. To ensure you have the most current information regarding any applicable discounts, specific events, or booking incentives for Bluestem Grove Equestrian Camping, it is always recommended to check the official Texas Parks and Wildlife Department website (tpwd.texas.gov/state-parks/ray-roberts-lake) or contact the Ray Roberts Lake State Park directly. Being proactive in checking these official sources will provide you with the most accurate and up-to-date details for planning your equestrian camping adventure in Texas.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and wish we could have had time for riding the trails. A huge round pen so my horses could stretch and roll after the long drive, covered stalls, tons of hitching posts. Water pretty accessible with a hose. The stalls were clean and sizable. Quiet. I'm not sure what the previous rater is talking about but we stopped the first week of Feb and the bathrooms had flushing toilets, hot water in the shower, heated bathroom, lights worked. This place was immaculately maintained!

We have camped at Bluestem in the fall for the past several years. The pens are absolutely gorgeous, and as a bonus, they are covered. There are several equestrian picket lines to use too. Stalls are easy access to some parking spots. Some stalls are a small walk from the parking lot. Most stalls are adjacent to several of the parking spaces. Not all parking spaces are guaranteed a stall. Some parking spaces have high ties (picket lines), you must bring your own line and hardware. There are 2 directions you can go on the trail from Bluestem. You can go south towards the damn and further towards 428. Or, you can go north towards Jordan Park. It's a beautiful equestrian camp. At this time no electricity hook ups, nor septic, and quiet hour commences at 10pm for those that run generators.

Will not return. Bathroom has no lights, shower has no functional hot water. When we called, they were unconcerned. Pens are supposed to be first come, but they will make you move depending on who you are. Also, an adult has to stay with the horses at all times, which means you cannot go to town, to the dock to fish, or to the beach. Water is every other site as well. Trails are maintained but very rocky and nothing special.
