Quartzite Campground is ideally situated at Nature Center, Baraboo, WI 53913, USA, placing it directly within the iconic Devil's Lake State Park. This prime location is a significant advantage for Wisconsin residents, offering relatively easy access from major population centers like Madison and Milwaukee, without requiring an exhaustive journey. The convenience of its location means you can spend more time enjoying the natural beauty and less time behind the wheel.

The campground's position within Devil's Lake State Park is a key highlight. It's approximately 0.33 miles from the lakeshore, separated by a wooded hill, the park entrance road, and the main day-use picnic area. Access to Quartzite Campground is straightforward, either from the entrance road near the Nature Center or directly from County Road DL. This direct access from County Road DL can be particularly beneficial, allowing campers to avoid potential heavy summer traffic when entering or exiting the rest of the park. While one past camper mentioned needing to drive over "literal boulders" for one specific site, it's important to remember that campsite conditions can vary, and researching individual site details before booking is always recommended for a smoother setup, especially for larger trailers. The close proximity to the North Shore of Devil's Lake also means quick access to the visitor center, chateau, and numerous hiking trails, making it a highly convenient base for exploring all that the park has to offer.

We stayed at site #45 and struggled to get our trailer leveled properly. I have never experienced such a significant grade and slope at a campsite. The electric hookup was also on the wrong side, so instead of backing in as I do at every other campsite in existence, I had to pull forward and drive over literal boulders placed at the end of the site. Also be aware that parking is expensive. $16 daily or an annual pass for $40. However, after getting through this initial hurdle, I'm pleased to say that the campground is well maintained and we had no other issues. Devil's Lake was beautiful and we would return, but definitely research your campsite before booking, many of them looked to have similar issues with grading and leveling.

We stayed 2 nites at Campsite 62E. It had electricity and was very close to the showers and bathrooms. The site was partially shaded and had a slight pitch where the camper is parked. Easy in and out. The North shore of the lake is nice and close. We would get that site again. The showers worked great amd the bathrooms were clean. Great experience all the way around. Just be aware that there is very little cell reception in the park.

Easy check in, clearly marked sites. Lots of space per campsite. Sites all have a picnic table, fire pit with bbq rack, and this site has electric. Bathrooms were a short walk and well maintained. Showers are small with a push button, it runs for a few minutes but the one I used had good water pressure and was hot enough. This is a pretty wide open area, not many trees for shade or privacy.
