Introduction / Overview

RV Park on Hunter, officially recognized as Lotts Island RV Campground, is an RV park located in Savannah, Georgia. It serves as a pragmatic choice for RV owners looking for an uncomplicated place to park their recreational vehicles. Based on public reviews, the park emphasizes ease of entry and exit, with level sites that are straightforward to navigate. It is noted for providing essential services without boasting an extensive list of luxury amenities. This makes it particularly appealing to those who value simplicity and accessibility over elaborate recreational facilities. The park appears to cater to both short-term visitors and potentially longer stays, given its focus on fundamental RV needs.

Location and Accessibility

RV Park on Hunter (Lotts Island RV Campground) is located at Lott Island Rd, Savannah, GA 31409, USA. This location places it within the greater Savannah area, offering reasonable accessibility to the city's myriad attractions and essential services. Savannah, Georgia, is a historic and economically dynamic city, known for its picturesque downtown, thriving port, cultural scene, and a wide array of dining and entertainment options.

The park's specific placement on Lott Island Road implies a degree of separation from the immediate hustle and bustle of downtown Savannah, potentially offering a slightly quieter setting. However, reviews indicate that noticeable road noise, especially during the day, is a factor to consider. Despite this, the park's key strength in location lies in its ease of access. As noted by visitors, getting in and out of the park is straightforward, particularly when the back gate is open, which is crucial for maneuvering larger RVs. This accessibility makes it a convenient stop for travelers passing through or for those needing a practical base to explore the Savannah area and surrounding coastal Georgia. Access to major roads allows for relatively easy commutes to employment centers, shopping, and healthcare facilities.

Services Offered

RV Park on Hunter (Lotts Island RV Campground) provides the fundamental services that RVers require for a comfortable stay. As a no-frills park, the focus is on utility hookups and basic convenience rather than extensive recreational facilities. Based on available information and typical offerings of such parks, services generally include:

  • RV Sites with Hookups: The park offers dedicated RV sites, and it can be inferred that these include essential connections for electricity, water, and sewer, which are standard for an operational RV park. These are crucial for any length of stay.
  • Level Sites: Reviews specifically highlight that the sites are level, which is a significant convenience for RV owners, making setup easier and more comfortable.
  • Easy In and Out Access: A major reported service is the ease with which RVs can navigate the park for entry and exit, especially if all gates are accessible. This feature is particularly valuable for larger rigs.

It's important to note that the park is described as having "no real amenities," suggesting that common features found in more amenity-rich campgrounds, such as bathhouses, laundry facilities, clubhouses, pools, or playgrounds, are likely not a primary focus, or may be limited. Prospective visitors should prepare for a self-sufficient stay and clarify any specific amenity needs directly with the park management if contact information becomes available beyond the address.

Features / Highlights

Despite being described as having "no real amenities," RV Park on Hunter (Lotts Island RV Campground) possesses several features that can be considered highlights for the right type of RVer. These focus on practicalities and accessibility:

  • Simplicity and Functionality: For those who simply need a place to park their RV with essential hookups and prefer a straightforward experience, this park excels. It removes the distractions of costly and unused amenities.
  • Accessible Sites: The consistently level sites and ease of ingress/egress are significant highlights, especially for owners of large RVs or those who appreciate a hassle-free setup. This practicality makes it an appealing choice for quick overnights or a simple base.
  • Proximity to Savannah: While not right in the heart of the city, its Savannah address means residents have relatively easy access to the area's many attractions, employment centers, dining options, and shopping facilities.
  • Potential for Quiet Nights (Relative): While daytime road noise is noted, the general lack of extensive amenities might contribute to a quieter evening atmosphere compared to parks with more activity and common areas.
  • Value Proposition: Given its focus on essential services, the park may offer a more budget-friendly option for RV parking in the Savannah area, making it suitable for those looking to economize on accommodation costs.

It's important for potential visitors to align their expectations with these core practical features rather than anticipating a resort-style experience. The park is suitable for those who are largely self-contained and prioritize convenience and a good location.

Promotions or Special Offers

Given the park's general description as a straightforward, no-frills option, specific "promotions or special offers" like those found at larger, amenity-rich resorts are not typically advertised. Pricing for RV sites usually follows a daily, weekly, or monthly rate structure, with longer stays typically offering a lower per-night cost. However, without direct contact information beyond the address, it's impossible to confirm specific rates or any potential long-term discounts.

For individuals interested in staying at RV Park on Hunter (Lotts Island RV Campground), the best approach to inquire about pricing, availability, and any potential deals for extended stays would be to try to find an updated contact number online or visit the location directly during typical business hours, if feasible. Given its nature, any "offer" would likely be a competitive long-term rate for a basic site.

It is easy to get in and out of as long as that back gate is open. There is a lot of noticeable road noise especially during the day. No real amenities but it is an good place to stay. Sites are level and easy to get in and out of. See our YouTube channel Coolest Life.
