Customer Reviews
I had left a review about 7 years ago about this place, it was a rather good review.Recently we stayed a couple nights. My husband and I work setting up ramps and chair lifts for veterans for the VA, all over the area we never quite know where we will be. We stay at hotels but thought we would offset the cost and get a primitive spot out here. The rule is you can only camp 3 days I guess which to me was strange but whatever. My husband is from the area and likes to fish. Well last night we got back from a trip and we called to get a spot for the night. The lady who runs this is very rude look at some of the comments, The owners are out of touch on some things to say the least, but we knew this cause you have to buy a license to fish here and my husband always gets harassed every year by her always proofing to her (5xs in a season) he has a license. She first said no we couldn't get a spot. Calls back ten min later to tell us her husband will meet us. So when he got here he decided to tell my husband our finances! Lol told us about a homeless shelter down the street!!!! I WAS SHOCKED! He told us we need to live in a house !!! We dont flaunt money but we make more than enough money for rent. We just live on the road right now, we are going to live in arizona soon. We can take the money and go down the street to camp where they arent in your finicial buisness this guy was telling us that "this can get expensive" well why is that your business and did you say that too the seasonal campers when they payed 2200 to stay out here for the season? We will NEVER be paying money to someone who obviously judges you And doesn't know our situation . We also believe after he took our money he called the police on us. It was only about a half hour maybe and we noticed bright lights approaching while we were still fishing. She ran our plate and we asked what the deal was she brought up something from 22 years ago some tiny thing and we told her. We had fished there alot and no cops ran any plates so we know they called. All the elders who come out there have said the place is sad no one comes out there anymore and its true. They have too many rules now. This is ridiculous we pay for a spot pay to fish when he already has a state license. We even pick up trash out there! We work very hard and are paid very well so that was a huge slap in the face . These people shouldn't be running a campground. I mainly wrote this to save someone else from being disrespected or getting a primitive spot only to be judged and have police called wasting time. We will be staying somewhere else with more friendly people, sad how they seem to be running all the good locals out and putting more really snooty people in. We noticed how barely any one waves its super sad. O and all this on Easter weekend.
Been little over 4 yrs since I've been a member called 2 weeks ago price still the same 10 dollars for the yr with the tranquility of the view and the 3am nature shenanigans try and beat that somewhere else to the persons out there having the love of fishing and being alone unfortunately you will feel the welcoming from the water and surroundings of the peacefulness letting you know it's not so bad
Private place with the peaceful Lake and good people I highly recommend
I did tent camping in the summer of 2023 during the week. This is a quite campground with everything that you will need. The bathroom and shower house is functional, but simple. There is potable water onsite that was decent. The sites themselves are nice and large and for tent camping, they have plenty of trees. The host are nice people and helpful. They pointed out that there may be raccoon problems, but the only trouble I had was 4 very young ones who visited me. A sharp growl at them had them up a tree and I wasn't bothered again. The lake that the campgrounds borders provides a nice view and is pleasant. I would certainly visit again.
Been fishing there for years I even have the yearly pass for 10 dollars even tho it's public waters I have a fishing license also but i had to leave cause I didn't have my paper on me so me and my grandson had to leave I was so disgusted
