Seidels RV Park and Campground About
For RV enthusiasts traversing the vast plains of Kansas, finding a comfortable and welcoming spot to park is essential. In the heart of Pratt, Kansas, Seidels RV Park and Campground offers a distinctive experience for those seeking a natural setting with the convenience of RV amenities. Whether you're passing through for a brief stop or considering a longer stay, understanding what this park provides is key to a successful trip. This article will provide a clear, engaging, and informative overview of Seidels RV Park and Campground, detailing its location, services, unique features, and why it might be the right fit for your next Kansas adventure.
Seidels RV Park and Campground is a privately owned and operated facility located in Pratt, Kansas, designed to accommodate recreational vehicles and campers. Unlike some sprawling, amenity-rich resorts, Seidels appears to lean towards a more natural and peaceful environment, emphasized by its "lots of trees" and "oasis" description in one review. This suggests a focus on providing a comfortable base for nature lovers and those who appreciate a shaded retreat.
Customer experiences with Seidels RV Park and Campground present a varied picture. One glowing review describes it as a "Great little oasis with lots of trees. Clean and well maintained. Loved The owner Rose." This feedback highlights positive aspects like cleanliness, good maintenance, and a friendly owner, which are crucial for a pleasant stay. Conversely, another review expresses significant dissatisfaction, particularly for long-term stays. Issues mentioned include sewer and water problems, a perceived lack of owner care for tenants' property, and the presence of "millions of flies and bugs because of her hobby farm." This review also notes the owner's dogs running free, contrasting with guest pet policies. These contrasting views underscore the importance of individual needs and expectations when choosing an RV park, especially for extended periods. It suggests that while the park might be ideal for short visits, long-term residents might encounter specific challenges.
Seidels RV Park and Campground is situated at 30370 NE 30th St, Pratt, KS 67124, USA. This address places the park on the outskirts of Pratt, likely offering a more rural and secluded feel compared to RV parks located directly within the city limits. The "NE 30th St" designation typically implies a location north-east of the city center, suggesting easier access to highways that bypass the immediate urban hustle.
Pratt, the county seat of Pratt County, is a centrally located city in Kansas, offering a convenient stop for travelers along U.S. Highway 54/400 and U.S. Highway 281. While Seidels RV Park and Campground offers a natural retreat, residents can still access Pratt's amenities with a short drive. Pratt provides:
- Essential Services: Grocery stores, pharmacies, and local businesses for daily needs.
- Dining Options: A variety of restaurants and cafes catering to different tastes.
- Healthcare Facilities: Pratt Regional Medical Center and other medical services are available.
- Recreational Areas: Pratt boasts several parks, including Lemon Park (known for its arboretum and trails) and the Green Sports Complex.
- Points of Interest: The Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks Nature Education Center/Fish Hatchery is a popular local attraction, offering educational exhibits and outdoor activities. The city also has a local historical museum.
The park's location, slightly removed from the direct city bustle, offers a peaceful environment while retaining reasonable accessibility to urban conveniences. This balance is often appealing to RVers who appreciate tranquility without being too far from supplies or services.
Based on the provided reviews and the nature of an RV park and campground, Seidels RV Park and Campground likely offers fundamental services essential for RVers, although specific details are not exhaustively public:
- RV Sites with Hookups: Typically includes electrical hookups (likely 30 and/or 50 amp), water connections, and sewer hookups at each site, allowing for self-contained RV living. The mention of "sewer problems" and "water problems" implies these services are indeed provided at sites, even if with occasional issues.
- Level Spots: One review noted that "the spots were somewhat level," which is an important feature for RV stability and comfort.
- Shade from Trees: A significant highlight is the "lots of trees for shade," providing natural cooling and a pleasant aesthetic, particularly beneficial during warmer Kansas months.
- Clean and Well Maintained (for some areas): One review explicitly states the park is "Clean and well maintained," suggesting that efforts are made to keep the grounds in good order.
- Owner Interaction: While experiences vary, the owner "Rose" is mentioned, indicating direct interaction with guests, which can be a service in itself for addressing needs and providing local information.
It's important for prospective guests to consider the mixed reviews regarding maintenance issues and to confirm specific amenities directly with the park, especially if planning a longer stay.
Seidels RV Park and Campground offers several key features that can appeal to different types of RVers:
- Abundant Shade and Natural Setting: The presence of "lots of trees" and the description as a "little oasis" are major highlights. This provides natural shade, a more pleasant aesthetic, and a sense of being immersed in nature, which is a significant advantage in the often sun-drenched Kansas landscape.
- Quiet Environment: The park's location outside the immediate city hub contributes to a generally quiet atmosphere, appealing to those seeking tranquility.
- Owner Engagement (varied): While experiences differ, the direct mention of "Rose" suggests a hands-on owner presence. For some, this personal interaction can be a positive aspect, offering a more personalized camping experience.
- Essential Hookups: The provision of full hookups (electricity, water, sewer) at sites ensures that RVers have access to all necessary utilities for a comfortable stay.
- Level Sites (somewhat): The fact that spots are "somewhat level" is a practical highlight for ease of parking and setup for RVs.
However, potential visitors should also be aware of features that some might consider drawbacks based on reviews: the presence of a "hobby farm" potentially contributing to flies and bugs, and the observation of owner's dogs running free without immediate cleanup. These aspects might be significant for those considering longer stays or those sensitive to insects and pet behavior.

Customer Reviews
Great little oasis with lots of trees. Clean and well maintained. Loved The owner Rose.
I was not impressed, we stay at many campsites for my job, yes the spots were somewhat level and it had many trees for shade. Rose doesn’t seem to care about her tenants. We had sewer problems which my girlfriend and a neighbor helped her dig up. We had water problems and rose would like to water her lawn and not seem to care that she is soaking your chairs and property. There are also millions of flies and bugs because of her hobby farm. I would not recommend this place if you plan on being long term, a day or two would be a nice visit. She also lets her two dogs run free and use the bathroom anywhere they want, but you have to clean up after your pets.
We found Seidels by accident and so happy we did. Rosie greeted us and showed us our camp site.1 of our stabilizer pads fell off while traveling. Rosie helped us find something to use as a pad. After we were all set up, we walked around the park. The lawn is well kept. Had 2 rockers at our site to use (which I did). Walked up to see the goats. Some of the goats walked to the fence to to be petted. I wish we could of stayed longer. If were in the area again we'll only stay at Seidel's. I highly recommend Seidels RV Park.
Wife and I were tired. Decided to stop at Seidel's. Rosie was there to greet us and showed us our spot. My wife takes alot of pictures. She has posted them on different web sites recommending Seidel's. Rosie is a jewel. She takes pride in the RV park and her animals. Wish we could of stayed longer. Seidel's will be the only place we'll stay at when in the area. Thank you Rosie for being a great host.
We called Rose about 45 minutes before we arrived and she thankfully had room for us. The site is beautiful, all the hookups were available, and dumping stations. On top of all of that, as other reviews have mentioned, she had a good amount of animals that my kids and I had fun observing/petting and feeding! Rose herself was friendly and helpful. Totally reasonable price too! If we come back through we will absolutely be staying again. Might even go out of our way to do so. Highly recommend!
