Accessibility to the campground is straightforward for residents across Iowa. Lake Park is a charming, small town, and the campground is easily reachable via well-maintained local roads. Despite being part of the city, the immediate area around the campground is noted for its peacefulness. Reviewers have highlighted that it's a "very quiet campground, even on the weekends," suggesting that traffic noise is minimal, contributing to a tranquil camping experience.

For those traveling with larger vehicles, the campground is accommodating. RV sites are described as "pretty level and long enough for larger rigs," ensuring that even big campers can find a suitable spot. This park has 31 full hookup 20/30/50amp back in RV pea gravel sites along with a handful of tent sites. All sites are nicely shaded by large trees, however some of the trees could use a little more trimming. There is a view of the lake from a number of sites. At least half of the sites are taken by those that stay the season here. About half of those leave their campers while the people are only at the campground on the weekends. This is a very quiet campground, even on the weekends, that is part of the city park and right on the lake. There are many things to do within the park. There is a large shelter with picnic tables and two sides to be used for gatherings, along with a large grassy & treed area. The playground area is not very large, but has A LOT of items to be played on. I think about 15. Plus, there are tennis courts, basketball courts, a baseball field and football field, horseshoe pits, and a public pool. There are two public docks and a boat launch. Many people fish in this area and there are lots of spots around the lake to do it, along with a small creek. There is a shower house with one shower (no quarters required) and two flush toilets. It could use some updates, but it was relatively clean. I enjoyed the size of the shower and that the actual shower had a curtain, so that the dressing area doesn't get wet. The town is small with one or two restaurants. There is a Dollar General and a gas station, in addition to some small down twon shops. On the road into town there is a hand car wash that includes a large truck bay. There are two larger cities within a 10 to 15 minute drive of Lake Park (Spirit Lake & Okaboji) with more restaurant and shopping options. These towns have more of a party atmosphere. The sites are pretty level and long enough for larger rigs, though you may have to park a toad outside of your site. There is plenty of other parking across from the camping area that can be used for vehicles or boats. Each RV site has a fire ring, but no grill. The tent camping area has grills. I tested both Verizon and T-mobile. Both have excellent high speed coverage. You can make reservations over the phone and mail in a check as a deposit. They do not take credit cards. Otherwise, you can get a spot FCFS. Part of my stay was on a weekend that was not a holiday weekend and there were a couple open spots.
