As a campground managed by the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission, South Shore Campground operates under state park regulations regarding pricing and promotions. Therefore, it does not typically offer independent, time-limited promotional deals in the way a private business might. However, for Nebraskans, understanding the state park pass system is equivalent to accessing the best "offers."
Key considerations for "promotions" or value for money include:
Nebraska State Park Permits: To enter any Nebraska state park area, including Branched Oak Lake and South Shore Campground, a valid Nebraska State Park Permit is required for each vehicle. You can purchase a daily permit or an annual permit. For frequent visitors to state parks throughout the year, an annual permit ($35 for Nebraska residents in 2024, subject to change) offers significant savings over daily fees, effectively serving as a long-term discount.
Camping Fees: Camping fees are separate from the park permit and are based on the type of site (electric, non-electric) and duration of stay. These rates are standardized across the state park system and provide consistent, transparent pricing.
Special Events/Free Park Days: Occasionally, the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission might host special events or "Free Park Days" where the park entry fee is waived. These are typically announced well in advance on the Nebraska Game and Parks website and are great opportunities for a no-cost introductory visit (though camping fees would still apply for overnight stays).
The most reliable way to find current rates and any potential system-wide promotions is to visit the official Nebraska Game and Parks Commission website (OutdoorNebraska.gov) or call the number provided below for the most up-to-date information on fees and policies.

Customer Reviews
This is one of our favorite campgrounds. Close to the lake and beach, easy access to fill and dump station. There is generally a decent campground host that is helpful and attentive to the grounds and facilities.
Excellent camp ground, stayed in 111. Very quiet and kid friendly.
Really love camping on this side. The camp hosts are super amazing really great people here.
We love coming to area 1. My children love that they can play at the park and then swim. I like that I don't have to pack up everything and move everything when they want to swim or play at the park. Plus we can grill food in the same area.
Very clean, and the park staff was very friendly. We had a company outing at the picnic shelter, and everything went very smooth. The shelter is the perfect proximity from the beach, not too far, but not so close that you’re in everyone else’s business. We were able to anchor the boat just of the beach and walk right up to the picnic shelter. Facilities were clean. Overall we were very satisfied with the amenities and would recommend to anyone looking for a good spot to host an outing.
