Two adults traveling cross country in a pickup camper. Stopped just for overnight. Tried calling before we arrived, but only got a busy signal. When we pulled in, called the number on the Washateria. Manager gave us instructions on how to register and said that she would be back in about an hour. Didn't use the laundry, but it was fairly clean and looked in good condition. The manager brought us a receipt and offered her phone number in case we needed anything. The hook-ups worked fine. The site was level. There was some traffic noise since it is right off of the I-10, but we kept our fan on and it wasn't too bad. That is the trade off for the convenience of being close to the highway. The price seems a little steep - $40 - since there are NO bathhouse facilities. Don't know if there is WiFi - it wasn't offered. Only accessable for smaller rigs.
Apr 13, 2018 · Morna StoutSpindle Top is the worst campground we have ever stayed at, and in the line of work we do we have stayed at tons campgrounds all over the US. For starters the whole park smells like sewage, management says it’s not their problem that they have sewage issues. Parking seems to be an issue all the time. Paperwork states that at each campsite you are allowed two vehicles. However, that is not the case, some sites are allowed 5 vehicles and other sites are only allowed 1 vehicle. The on-site management is a JOKE! He seems to get drunk every night and likes to mouth off to the paying customers. We had issues with him on more than one occasion. Sure wish I knew who the owner(s) are so I could inform them that I’m sure they are loosing plenty of business because of poor management. Save yourself the hassle and do not stay at this Rv park! Driving an extra hour, on top of the hour we already drove is worth every bit of gas we use not to stay here any more! The only reason I gave Spindle Top RV one star is because you have to in order to leave a review, and I sure hope this review saves someone else’s time and money.
Feb 21, 2019 · Jessica SimoneauxVery clean. Plenty of space for autos at the moment. Well maintained. Update 19SEP19: I have been staying here for three months. No complaints. I got in today around 9pm after driving into Trop Depression Imelda. I went to sleep around 10pm. At 3am the property manager awakened me by hammering on my door. I opened the door and the water was level with the floor of the camper and above his knees. I grabbed what I could and drove out of the rising water probably at the last opportunity to do so. I might lose the camper...don't know yet...but I got out with my truck and drove out of the area before it would have been impossible to do so shortly afterwards. The manager was walking around in a storm, in knee deep rising floodwaters filled with STILL active power taps and heaven knows what else in the water making certain that no one was forgotten. Spindletop RV and their property managers deserve a medal. I cannot thank them enough for their dedication.
Sep 20, 2019 · Kip MeltonIt's a very nice place, very clean & kept very well. they keep an eye out on the property. Its nice they have connections for laundry. The one thing is that they never answer the phone, I was there for like a month & could never get the wifi password.
Aug 11, 2019 · Elizabeth C.This place only has room for really small campers. They also do not return calls. We pulled in and then pulled right back out. If you have anything over 30 feet tops, you will not fit. The whole campground is just one looped street.
