Summerville Lakes is an OK place to stay. The lake is over run with seaweed and growth. Its hard to fish some areas due to vegetation overgrowth. There is lots of fish in the lake. But many fish have spots from the sewage that can leak into the lake due to sewer backups or excessive rain that can make sewage seep into the lake. Some of the residents are friendly. I made a couple friends here. Then there is some residents who believe they run the place. I had one neighbor who complained about where I parked my vehicles on my lot. She did not like that I had to park to close to her trailer. We All know campgrounds are close quarters and we need to tolerate each other. Another neighbor had a leaky water pipe that flooded the parking lot/road. Park manager informed that person to fix her leaky pipe and shut her water off until repair was made. That neighbor would turn the water back on and flood the road out. Sewer backups would come up thru my sewer pipe and run thru my lot. I informed the property manager that there was a local man hanging out and bothering people who lived in the park. This man is a drug addict and thief. The Manager did nothing to address the issue. This man harassed myself, my husband and my friends. He chased my friend in her car, threw rocks at her car and threatened her. One positive, All the lots are on the water. The lake ambiance is nice. Birds galore. The newest area created last year can flood. Last time it flooded, all the RV's had to move out to other lots due to several inches of water. Watch out for the cats that are left out , by residents, to use your yard as their litter box or your garbage as a restaurant. Currently you must be a self contained unit as there is no bathroom or shower house to use. They were constructing a couple self contained shower/bathroom shacks when I left. There is a Laundromat a few miles down the road. Shopping and local attractions are close by. I enjoyed the first few months staying here. It turned bad quickly when my neighbor pushed for us to be friends. She expected my husband to fix things and be at her beck and call to take care of anything she needed. Including fixing her hot water tank, leveling her trailer, repairing her old broken down car and other chores. Bottom line there is a few people looking to prey on any good intentions you may have. Overall, lot rent is over$1000 a month plus electric. Our electric was running over $100 in the winter and $150 in the summer. Comparing this park to a couple other RV parks in the area, this is the better choice. Sometime soon, 17A will be widened. The construction noise and traffic backups were annoying in 2024. It will be worse when the public sewers are installed and the road widens. If I had to choose between this park, Ladson KOA or Ladson RV park, this would be my first pick. I updated this review after I moved out due to possible management retaliation.

This place is beautiful! No amenties (well- they just added a bathhouse) but they are striving to do better every Day/Week. Camp host was very helpful when needed. They are trying to provide more amenities and I believe they will as they work everyday to work out the quirks. I would recommend summerlakes over any other campground in the area by far. I travel the whole southeast for work and this was definitely one of the prettiest most majestic campgrounds we have ever stayed at. Camp host was quick to help if needed. Great fishing, and lots of wildlife to view! Sincerely, Aaron

I recently stayed at Lakes of Summerville RV Park & Campground, and I have to say it was quite underwhelming. Unfortunately, there were several aspects of the experience that left me disappointed. To start, the sites here are all sand, which made it difficult to level our RV properly. Plus, with no grass or gravel, the sand quickly became a mess. There are no amenities at all—no picnic tables, no fire pits, nothing that would encourage you to spend time outdoors, which is usually a big part of the camping experience. It also appears that the majority of campers here are long-term residents, which gave the park more of a residential feel than a recreational one. While that’s not necessarily a negative, it’s worth noting if you’re looking for a more vacation-friendly atmosphere. The price here is surprisingly high considering what you get—or don’t get. For the cost, I would have expected at least a few basic amenities. To add to the frustration, the campground changed our reserved site on the day of our arrival. It didn’t make for a great start. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend Lakes of Summerville RV Park & Campground. For the price, you can find much better options that offer more in terms of comfort, amenities, and overall experience.

Great spot for our Father's Day weekend. Easy access to Charleston, Summerville, Mt Pleasant, etc. Beautiful water views seemingly everywhere. Campground host was helpful and accommodating showing us our site location. Strong cell service allowed us to stream evening movie too. Highly recommend.

Pros: thr owners were very responsive and nice. Our spot was pretty and mostly quiet. Cons: as soon as you pull in you are greated with a very trashy ghetto campsite that people live in. When walking around it is quite obvious they do not enforce upkeep on the long term residence as 90% of them look very rundown and trashy. I was camp host myself and would never in a million years let anyone keep their sites the way these guests do. It is WAY over priced for what you get! Our lot had nothing but the minimal hookups. NO picnic table, NO fire pit, nothing. The people next to us had broken beer bottles by their fire pit, very trashy and run down. For $75 a night you should at least have a fire pit. They don't give you a single luxury or even upkeep the property, so what are they doing with all the money?? We tried taking our kids on a walk and there is a huge debris/burn pile in the middle of the park that is not only an ugly eye sore but unsafe. All in all, I would not recommend or stay here again.
