This campground is more than just a place to pitch a tent or park an RV; it is a dedicated setting for creating lasting, multi-generational memories, a fact strongly supported by long-time patrons who note that the park has retained its friendly, clean, and peaceful "feel" for decades.Known primarily for its direct access to the clear waters of the Saco River and its huge, private sandy beach—a feature that lives up to the campground's name—The Beach Camping Area provides a welcome alternative to the crowded lake beaches and expensive resorts of the region. Recent improvements to amenities, such as a new playground structure, demonstrate a commitment to both honoring the past and enhancing the experience for today’s families. With a strict enforcement of community rules, especially the speed limit, the management ensures that children can safely play, walk, and bike around the park, offering peace of mind to parents and grandparents alike. The atmosphere is described by one satisfied family as "clean, quiet and friendly," making it an ideal choice for a first-time family camping trip or a return to a beloved annual tradition.

I first started coming to the beach camping area in the late 1970s as a seven or eight year-old child. My family had purchased a pop-up camper and the beach camping area became a yearly activity usually late July. We would always spend at least one week sometimes two. This year was a bit of a nostalgia trip for me, and it was nice to see that the beach camping area had not changed in a long time still had the same fuel that it did when I was a kid. The hosts are terrific The campground is clean, quiet and friendly. Prices for ice and firewood were reasonable and they’re always seem to be Different activities going on for those I wanted to take advantage. I am hoping to make this again an annual trip It would be nice to share the experience with my adult children
Sep 07, 2025 · Robert CookWe wanted a clean, peaceful and fun place for our first camping trip as a family (our son is 18 months old so we did not want to go to a loud area) and this was definitely a great choice! The price was perfect, the staff were super friendly and helpful and the beach was so clean! There’s a new playground structure and all kinds of stuff for kids to do, and appreciated how strictly the speed limit was enforced so children could play/walk/ride bikes safely around the playground. We stayed for 5 days and were sad to leave, and plan on definitely coming back next year!
Aug 19, 2025 · Ashley CrossThis is a fairly nice campground and we had a decent campsite, but just keep in mind, it's a campground, not a luxury RV resort. Having full hookups is definitely a plus. The staff was very nice and accommodating. We enjoyed the beach and river; more stones than sand so I was glad I brought water shoes. Showers worked well, but I thought it was a little much to have to pay to use them ($1.00 for 5 minutes). No overly expensive, but I would think it would be included in your camping fee. Signs all over the campground indicate quiet hours start at 10:00 pm and are strictly enforced. We had a very loud group next to us that were up sitting around the campfire until 12:30 am or so. So, not too sure how strictly enforced they are. We did go up to the office to report it the next morning. The lady said we needed to call the emergency night time number. I guess we didn't think to walk up to the office and read the sign in the window at 12:00 at night. We ended up having some vehicle problems and had to stay two extra nights and the staff were very helpful in moving us to a different campsite. Overall, we were satisfied with the campground and our stay there.
Jul 28, 2025 · Julie CallGreat campground! The location is far enough away from major roads that vehicle noise is not a problem. The proximity to the river, hiking trails, and other attractions makes it a great getaway location. Several grocery stores are also just minutes away. The staff is very friendly and welcoming, and they work hard to keep the place in good shape.
Sep 03, 2025 · Adam LetizioWe went camping here with our RV (travel trailer) and absolutely loved this campground!! We have stayed other places nearby and this one has been our favorite! All the sites are large and roomy! The beach area is right on saco river and is HUGE! We will be staying here next summer and cannot wait! I should note we didn't use the showers but the bathrooms were clean!
