Thousand Trails About
For many of us in Mississippi, camping and RVing are cherished ways to explore our beautiful state and beyond. Thousand Trails, a well-known national network of campgrounds, offers a unique approach to outdoor adventures. While primarily a membership-based system, the Thousand Trails location in Biloxi provides a convenient and potentially cost-effective option for Mississippians looking for a consistent camping experience on the Gulf Coast. Understanding how this system works is key to unlocking its benefits, and for many members, it proves to be a valuable asset for their travel plans.
Thousand Trails operates on a membership model, providing access to a network of campgrounds across the United States. The Biloxi location, like others in the system, offers a specific experience that caters to its members. While some online feedback highlights challenges with booking availability, particularly for shorter, specific weekend stays within the standard 30-day booking window, it's important to understand the broader membership structure. For full-time RVers or those who utilize their membership frequently and are flexible with their travel dates, Thousand Trails can offer significant cost savings over traditional nightly campground fees.
What truly stands out, however, is the commitment to customer service that members often encounter once they are part of the system. One particularly positive review praised a Thousand Trails employee named "Graydon" for his "empathy," "helpful," "pleasant," and "friendly" demeanor, noting he "most definitely went the extra mile to help." This suggests that while the booking system might require some understanding, the human element of the service, when experienced positively, is highly valued. The overall network aims to provide consistent amenities and a community feel, appealing to those who enjoy a predictable and supportive camping environment. For Mississippians who frequently travel with their RVs, or those considering a long-term camping lifestyle, exploring a Thousand Trails membership could open doors to numerous destinations, with the Biloxi campground serving as a strategic hub on the Gulf Coast.

For Mississippians traveling to the campground, accessibility is generally straightforward. The park is situated with relatively easy access to major interstates, particularly Interstate 10 (I-10) and Interstate 110 (I-110). This makes it convenient for RVers coming from other parts of Mississippi, as well as those traveling through the Gulf Coast region. Being on Tommy Munro Drive means proximity to a wide array of local amenities including grocery stores, restaurants, shopping centers, and entertainment venues like the famous Biloxi casinos. The local road network is typically well-maintained, ensuring that RVs of all sizes, from travel trailers to large motorhomes, can navigate to and from the campground with ease. Thousand Trails operates on a membership model, meaning that "promotions" often revolve around membership plans rather than traditional nightly discounts. However, there are various ways members can leverage their enrollment for cost-effective stays.
- Annual Camping Pass: The fundamental "offer" is the annual Camping Pass, which provides access to campgrounds within a chosen zone for a yearly fee, with no nightly fees for stays within membership rules (e.g., typically up to 14 consecutive nights, with a required time out of the system before the next stay).
- Membership Upgrades: Thousand Trails offers various upgraded memberships (e.g., Elite, Adventure) that provide enhanced benefits such as longer stay limits (up to 21 days or more), expanded reservation windows (up to 120-210 days in advance), and sometimes park-to-park access without mandatory time out. These upgrades are essentially ongoing "promotions" for frequent users.
- Trails Collection Add-On: This optional add-on expands access to over 100 additional Encore RV Resorts and Destination Campgrounds, significantly increasing the number of available parks.
- Seasonal/Annual Sites: For those who wish to stay in one location for an entire season or year, Thousand Trails offers annual site programs, which can include discounts for long-term commitments.
- Referral Programs: Members may occasionally benefit from referral incentives if they introduce new members to the Thousand Trails system.
For the most accurate and current information on membership pricing, available upgrades, and any specific short-term sales or benefits, it is crucial to contact Thousand Trails directly via their official channels. Customer Reviews
An absolute scam. You can't book until 30 days before your stay, we called 1st thing this morning 803am we got through and no Saturday sites available. Who books just a Saturday stay? Plenty of Friday night sites available. Their customer service operators are rude and just hang up on you. Asked to speak with a supervisor and was transferred to an automated system. Please do yourself a favor and save your money. This is 100% a scam and the owners should be criminally charge for stealing people's money.
