As a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers managed property, Turkey Roost Campground's pricing and any potential discounts are typically governed by federal regulations rather than individual promotions specific to this single campground name. Therefore, direct "promotions or special offers" as might be found at a private commercial campground are less common. However, campers can often take advantage of government-wide pass programs:
- Federal Interagency Passes: Holders of the America the Beautiful – The National Parks and Federal Recreational Lands Pass, especially the Senior Pass (for U.S. citizens or permanent residents aged 62 or over) and the Access Pass (for U.S. citizens or permanent residents with permanent disabilities), are usually eligible for a 50% discount on individual campsites.
- Annual Passes: While not a per-night discount, purchasing an annual pass can offer overall savings for frequent visitors to federal recreation sites.
- Off-Season Rates: While not explicitly stated as a "promotion," some federal campgrounds may have slightly adjusted rates or fewer sites open during off-peak seasons (e.g., specific sites might close from October 1 to March 1).
To get the most accurate and up-to-date information on current rates, check site availability, and inquire about any federal pass eligibility for discounts, it is highly recommended to visit the official Recreation.gov website for Cedar Ridge (TX) or contact the Belton Lake Office directly (phone number typically listed on Recreation.gov or Corps of Engineers websites for Belton Lake parks). Consistent with Corps of Engineers campgrounds, Turkey Roost Campground at Cedar Ridge Park is both inexpensive and well maintained by very friendly and helpful employees. Once reservations are made, a gate code is provided for entry at the second gate (or the first gate if unmanned.) At the first gate, the attendant will check your reservation and provide you with vehicle tags to be used during your stay. You will then circle around to the second gate and use the provided code. Our site during our stay, 35, was a level pull thru asphalt pad with both water and 30/50 amp hookups. We had a stationary grill, a side picnic table, and a shelter area. No sewer, yet a dump station is available upon RV exit. Our section was close to the water with a boat ramp, a small beach area, 2 restroom/shower facilities, a basketball area, and a playground for the kids. Great campground for boating and fishing. Pet allowed with standard rules. Tent camping available.
Very nice campgrounds. Deer everywhere. The lake is beautiful. Stayed 10 days and will come back
Love this place! The only issue is that is hard to get a spot being they are always full.
Quiet campground with some space between sites. Water and electric at each site. Dump station near entrance. Great water views from most sites
Site #67 has no shade but in the spring time it isn't bad. Good view of the lake though.
