Near the historic town of Jefferson, the USACE oversees popular campgrounds around Lake O' the Pines, a significant reservoir in East Texas.
While the USACE is a federal agency with a broad mission encompassing flood control, navigation, and environmental stewardship, their management of recreation areas is a key aspect for local Texans seeking outdoor adventures. Dec 26, 2023 · Joseph WadeThis is a Government agency, so yes, there are rules to be followed...
May 14, 2025 · Steven Andersonnice but some sites are very close to each other
Nov 19, 2023 · ItchyFeetsWe went with friends to the main beach located just below the dam. Very disappointed in the way this once “nice beach” now looks. The grass was so high up around campsites, bathrooms, it was to the point of embarrassment. Also, no visible trash cans. I’m sure that there is a good excuse for it, but everyone was sure talking about it and disappointed for it to look like this on the 4th of July, and especially at a pay to enter park.
