Village Estates About
In the landscape of housing options across Ohio, mobile home parks have steadily gained recognition as a viable and often more affordable alternative to traditional stick-built homes or apartment living. These communities offer a unique blend of homeownership, community spirit, and a more manageable cost of living. For those in Northeast Ohio seeking such an arrangement, Village Estates in Ravenna presents itself as a prominent option, continually evolving to meet the needs of its residents.
Village Estates is more than just a collection of homes; it aims to be a functioning community where residents can enjoy a sense of belonging. While, like any community, it experiences its share of challenges and ongoing improvements, the commitment to enhancing the living experience for its residents is a recurring theme. The park strives to provide a comfortable and established environment for individuals and families looking for stable, long-term housing in the Ravenna area. Potential residents should always consider visiting and speaking with current residents to get a full picture of the ongoing improvements and community dynamic.
Village Estates is strategically located at 3002 OH-59, Ravenna, OH 44266, USA. This address places it in a convenient position within Portage County, offering residents access to the best of Ravenna and the surrounding Northeast Ohio region. Ohio State Route 59 is a key artery, providing direct access to essential services, shopping, dining, and recreational opportunities.
The accessibility of Village Estates is a significant advantage for those commuting for work or needing to access amenities regularly. Ravenna itself is a hub for various services, and its central location in Portage County means that larger cities like Akron and Kent are within a reasonable driving distance. This balance of local convenience and regional connectivity makes Village Estates an attractive option for those seeking a less urbanized setting without being isolated from modern conveniences. Families may also appreciate the proximity to local schools and community facilities that Ravenna offers.
Living in a mobile home park often comes with specific services that contribute to the overall living experience. While information on specific services can vary and should always be confirmed directly with the park management, mobile home parks like Village Estates typically offer the following:
-
Lot Rentals: Residents at Village Estates typically own their manufactured homes but rent the land or "lot" upon which their home sits. This arrangement often means lower upfront costs compared to purchasing both a traditional home and the land.
-
On-site Management: Mobile home parks often have on-site or readily accessible management teams. This provides a direct point of contact for residents regarding rent payments, community rules, and maintenance concerns within the park's common areas. The responsiveness and presence of management are crucial for a well-functioning community, and recent reviews suggest a focus on improvement in this area at Village Estates.
-
Road Maintenance: The upkeep of internal roads within the park is generally the responsibility of the park management. While resident feedback indicates ongoing efforts are needed, the commitment to improving infrastructure like roads is often a priority for communities aiming to enhance resident satisfaction.
-
Utility Access: Mobile home parks provide the necessary hook-ups for essential utilities such as water, sewer, and electricity to each lot. While residents are typically responsible for their utility bills, the infrastructure is provided by the park. Drainage and sewage systems are critical components, and their proper functioning is an ongoing aspect of park maintenance.
-
Common Area Maintenance: Maintenance of shared spaces, such as playgrounds (if available) and general landscaping of common areas, falls under the park's responsibility, aiming to keep the community visually appealing and functional for all residents.
While individual mobile homes within Village Estates offer residents their own private living spaces, the community itself provides certain features and a general environment that define the living experience.
-
Sense of Community: Many mobile home parks foster a close-knit environment where neighbors often know each other and look out for one another. This community aspect can be a significant highlight for those seeking a more connected living experience than traditional suburban neighborhoods or apartment complexes.
-
Affordable Homeownership: For many Ohio residents, the primary highlight of living in a mobile home park is the accessibility of homeownership at a more affordable price point compared to traditional homes. This allows individuals and families to build equity and establish roots without the substantial financial burden of a conventional mortgage.
-
Evolving Management and Improvements: Recent reviews suggest a positive shift in management, with new leadership actively working on improving the park's infrastructure, such as road resurfacing. While these improvements are ongoing and some challenges remain (like specific potholes or drainage issues), the commitment to making the community better is a notable highlight.
-
Individual Lot Space: Unlike apartment living, mobile home residents typically enjoy their own designated lot space, offering more privacy and often a small yard area for personal use, which can be a significant draw for pet owners or those who enjoy gardening.
-
Potential for Quiet Living: Depending on specific areas within the park and the overall management, mobile home communities can offer a quieter residential experience than dense urban areas, appealing to those who value peace and tranquility.

Customer Reviews
I would like to say since the landlord left and the new one came, things have definitely improved in some aspects like for instance they did try to fix the roads, but there is still a massive pothole near the entrance after you get to where you either turn right or left from either entrance. The old owner put a notice on my door stating that if I don't power wash my trailer then they will be raising the rent by considerably concerning amount as well as putting a notice on a couple of other neighbors who are old and don't have the luxury of getting a power washer, so they ended up having to use big brush to scrub their trailer. I also want to say that even now the landlord doesn't stay until the time they're supposed to close. They usually leave 30 minutes early so when I try to go and pay my rent they aren't there and I have to risk leaving it in the mailbox. The problem with that is a while ago I put money in there and it disappeared yet the landlord said maybe it just fell out and flew away or maybe somebody took it after it fell out. The landlord from before they fired her was a terrible landlord and needed to get fired. The new landlord, however, is a lot better and I'm grateful because they're actually doing a lot more than what the old landlord was doing. For instance she painted the roads with a new blacktop but it didn't fix a few Paul's like the one that I mentioned which is getting bigger. I'd also like to mention most of the neighbors are nice but there are but there are A couple bad apples among them. I would also like to mention that THEY NEED TO FIX THE SEWAGE DRAINS because water doesn't seem to want to drain properly even after they try to fix the drains twice and I ended up having to fix the drain myself where I live and yet it still doesn't drain as well even after making a clear path for to drain better. I'd also like to mention the people that tried to fix the drains the first time after I moved in left left tracks from a to Manny dozer that's supposed to dig dirt and expose the pipes for the sewage and ever since then it's still noticeable and has been for a year now. I think they need to hire some new people in the landscape department. P.s. FIX THE ADDRESS SO THAT WHEN I WANT TO DELIVER SOMETHING I CAN PICK MY TRAILER OR AT LEAST THE MAILBOXES. I literally have to send some packages to family members house because it doesn't register the trailer parks address or any of the trailers in it and if it does it isn't mine because even google maps won't let me pin my trailer or any of the trailers on my road.
Roads are absolutely horrible. Huge pot holes and unnecessarily large speed bumps. People park wherever they feel like, even blocking stop signs and other people's driveways. And hey it's ok if your dog kills another dog. You can still keep your dog and let your kid walk it around the park and then get another dog and leave them all outside barking at all hours of the day and night. Kids screaming and cussing walking down the road. Always trash at the playground.
DO NOT MOVE IN TO THIS TRAILER PARK!!! Park management doesn’t give a damn about any of its residents or their safety in this community. They will turn a blind eye to you. Nor do they uphold their rules for the park that they make you sign when moving in. If you think this is a nice community like I thought, I’m hear to advise you its not nice at all.
I lived here two years ago and still visit often. The speed limit is unreasonably low (10 MPH). Most of the trailers are well kept with neat yards. Lots of people outside loafing and lounging during working/school hours. The number and size of speed bumps is unnecessary.
I come here often. It smells like cat urine, especially in the summer months, and you can catch fleas from walking between the trailers.
