As a county park, White Cloud County Park primarily operates on a fixed fee structure for its campsites and services, rather than frequent promotional offers typical of private campgrounds. However, understanding their pricing structure can help Michiganders plan their visits effectively. Key aspects of their fees and potential savings include:
- Varying Campsite Rates: Rates differ based on the type of site (rustic, electric, water/electric, full hookup) and the day of the week (higher on weekends and holidays).
- Motor Vehicle Passes (MVP) Required: A daily, 3-day, or annual Motor Vehicle Pass (MVP) is required for entrance. While some visitors feel this should be included in the campsite fee, it is a standard county park policy. Purchasing an annual MVP can be a cost-effective option for frequent visitors to Newaygo County Parks.
- Regional Recreation Pass: A Regional Recreation Pass offers access to all Newaygo and Mecosta County Parks, providing potential savings for those who plan to explore multiple parks in the region.
- Seasonal Campsites: For extended stays, seasonal campsites are available through a waiting list system, which typically offers a more economical rate than daily or weekly bookings over a long period.
- Group Rates for Pavilions/Lodge: The large enclosed pavilion and White River Lodge have daily rental fees, which can be advantageous for group events compared to booking individual sites for a large gathering.
For the most precise and current information on rates, any special offers, or specific pass requirements, it is always recommended for prospective campers to visit the Newaygo County Parks website or contact White Cloud County Park directly. Booking reservations, especially for popular times or specific site types, is also best done in advance through their official channels.

Customer Reviews
This is a beautiful, quiet, peaceful park. Clean bathrooms and showers. This would have been a 5 star park if they didn't charge for the park pass for the tow vehicle. IMO that should be included in the campsite fee. I completely understand charging for extra vehicles, but the price should include one vehicle. Regardless we really like this park and will definitely camp here again.
A hidden gem! The staff was very friendly. Large, grassy lots. The bathrooms were dated, but very clean! Very quiet and peaceful. Lots of hiking trails. Close proximity to a kayak launch. Within biking distance of downtown (even though there isn't much to do in White Cloud). Good wifi. I'd recommend the park to anyone that want a peaceful, relaxing camping experience.
Pros: Our lot was HUGE and felt quite private since we could be well off the road. Nice trees for shade and hammocks. Fire ring is a loose ring you can place wherever works best for your setup. Campground and bathrooms are clean. Yard games and equipment available for use. Nice playground. Beautiful park area. Cons: SO many spongy moth caterpillars (previously known as gypsy moth) - plague level infestation. Their poo was literally raining down on everything and everyone so much you could listen to it like rain. We had to remove several of these rash-causing caterpillars from our trailer and rug. Our awning is absolutely ruined, stained so badly that multiple rounds of scrubbing with special cleaners aren’t enough to salvage it. Road is dirt and there’s no path from road to bathhouse, so you are constantly tracking dirt and caterpillar poo. Many lots don’t have water, but there are NO common water spigots except for the large tank-filling potable water unit for RVs at the entrance. Fortunately there was an empty site that had water nearby, so we could use that. Campers across the way had three large banners sporting the F-word and staff did nothing about it even though they perused the loop and inspected sites. Loud ORVs are driven around the loop by unsupervised kids all day/evening. Staff disappears around 7 pm - if you have an issue, you’re on your own, I guess. Hiking trails poorly maintained. Bathhouse is not central, so you may have a long walk - ours was 1/3 mile one way. Massive 6-sheriff/police unit arrest with canine unit in the intersection across the fence from our site (alongside campground, not within).
Came in a few time last year and loved it so much we decided to get a seasonal this year! Will be back again next year. Great park, great management and everyone feels like family! There are walking trails to the White River for fishing or even swimming. My kids love this park!
Very beautiful and peaceful. Nice walking trail buy the white river. Really inexpensive for season lots
