I'm not big on campgrounds in general. I prefer the seclusion of solo backpacking, but we decided to do a family camping trip for my birthday. Our site (288) was well separated from our neighbors, and backed up to the Scuppernong hiking trails adjacent to the campground. Our site was huge! It could easily accommodate 4 or 5 large tents, and had trees well spaced enough for 3 or 4 hammocks as well. Pit toilets across the street were clean and well stocked... The only negative to our trip was that the camp host's wood / ice could no longer be paid for with cash. He had a QR code linked to a payment site, but there was no cell signal at the camp host location. I had to drive out to the park entrance to get signal, pay, then return to show the receipt in order to get my bundles of wood... at a cost of $8 for 6 or 7 pieces of wood. I'd suggest buying from one of the local residences instead.
May 28, 2024 · Troy GarrisReally chill and quiet place. Had a good night sleep. Went mountain biking down a trail and some Karen said I wasn't aloud to do it but I checked online and you totally can. I did the orange loop and it was pretty awesome!
May 09, 2025 · Bushwacker BrownVery nice campground. Awesome to have such a woodsy option so close to Milwaukee! This will be our quick get away when we don’t have time to go up north!
Oct 28, 2023 · Guy HuffmanThis is one of my favorite campgrounds in Southeast Wisconsin. It feels like you're in Northern Wisconsin without the long drive. The bathrooms and showers are always clean and up to date. There are lots of hiking trails in the area, and Ottawa Lake isn't too far away with a beach to swim in. I highly recommend camping here.
May 22, 2023 · Sarah Roath Zimmermann (smzimmy)We stayed in the "Quiet Loop" it was quite peaceful no screaming kids or barking dogs overnight. Nice tent pads at most sites. RV'ers check your site before booking, some parking pads are way off level compared to others.
