Customer Reviews
Tucked away just across the county line in Racine, Sanders Park has become a peaceful haven for us. It's a place where the simplicity of nature shines, offering a quiet reprieve during the week, even when the weekend campers roll in. The campground itself, though small, feels intimate, a sanctuary among the trees where the only real sound is the soft rustle of leaves and the occasional call of wildlife. The park staff does a wonderful job keeping things pristine, and it shows in every corner we wander through. Hiking here is a delight, meandering trails snake through the heart of the park, each step revealing the subtle beauty of this space. It's a joy to find moments where nature is waiting to be noticed, whether it’s a deer emerging from the brush or the gentle song of birds perched high in the canopy. Though Sanders is primarily a picnic park, the campground, complete with electrical hookups provides the modern comforts we need while still letting us immerse in nature. There's a balance here between the wild and the comfortable that makes our stay feel just right. Today's nature picks highlight some of the small wonders we’ve found along the way, each photo a glimpse into the hidden world of this little gem of a park. With every day that passes, this quiet retreat continues to remind us of the beauty that surrounds us, just waiting to be seen. Thomas Corrao Stray Compass Life #straycompasslife #racinecountyparks
Very neat and clean campground. Has showers, although the water was cold. Flush toilets. Lots of trails to explore. It is a small campground and the sites are very close together.
I was pretty happy with this little campground. It is small but cozy. The foliage is around the outside of camp, and you are pretty close to your neighbors. That isn't really a problem unless there are barking dogs or late partiers, of which we had a few this visit. The bathroom is actually super clean and nice, and the showers (free of charge) made for a nice rinse. The whole place isn't like THE SPOT for an immersive camping experience, but if you need a place with some creature comforts to park your tent for a night or two, it's perfect.
I grew up down the street so it's always nice to hangout in "the neighborhood". Camp ground was clean and everyone was respectful and had a great time. Nice place to get away to when you can't get away.
Good spot for a midway camp if you are biking from Chicago to Milwaukee. Only downside is there are streetlights that don't get turned off at night above some of the campsites.
