KOA Holiday campgrounds are designed to offer a balance between a natural setting and a wide array of amenities, making them ideal for both relaxation and active recreation. The Allendale / West Grand Rapids KOA Holiday positions itself as a "family-friendly haven" with a "serene and peaceful place to vacation." It caters to a variety of camping preferences, from spacious RV sites to secluded tent areas and comfortable deluxe cabins. However, it's worth acknowledging that, like any popular destination, experiences can vary. One guest noted the campground's ease of access and quiet atmosphere during a March stay, but also mentioned that some facilities like the pool, office, bathroom, and laundry were closed during the off-season. Another review highlighted a concern about staff, stating, "Some of staff is rude. Didn't feel welcomed. If you're not a local you're not treated well. Especially Buckeyes." These varied perspectives underscore the importance of visiting during the primary season to experience the full range of amenities and form your own impression.

Easy to get to. We stayed a couple nights in March so they didn't have the pool, office, bathroom, and laundry open. We didn't see any staff except the guy who filled our propane tank. It was quiet and had lots of trees. There were areas to play games and go for a walk. The lots were only backin but were flat and average size. We'd probably go back.

After reading other campers horrible reviews about the staff and facilities of this KOA I was highly motivated so share my 5 star review. We live in Allendale so this was a great location that still felt like we were away. Yes the roads are dirt but you’re camping. Yes some things are not perfect but you are camping. Yes the speed limit is slow but you are camping around a bunch of young children. With the HIGHLY enforced speed limit I felt at complete ease to let my kids have free rein to explore the whole campground solo. The service and staff are so friendly (of course unless you don’t follow the enforced rules.. welcome to being an adult lol). The passion and vision are there when you chat with the owner, who is super kind. We overall had an amazing experience and will gladly come back.

Most KOA's we have been to are in disrepair and not properly maintained. some of the franchise owners and staff have been very nice but others expect the campers to jeopardize their expensive equipment just to accommodate their lack of maintenance and upkeep. Policies and rules are inconsistent. The owner is rude and expects everyone to accommodate him, he got mad at me because I refused to drive my rig through the untrimmed trees and potholes the size of a small swimming pool. He also told me they are not qualified to meet our expectations. This is a terrible place, run by terrible people. This KOA is NOT big rig friendly and should not be advertised as such. DO NOT go here if you care at all about your equipment. It's a mud pit.

Loved our stay here! The owner is so nice (you can tell he enjoys what he does). Our site was easy to get in & out. Clean bathroom & shower. Other things we enjoyed: walking trails, lots of trees, well kept landscaping, feeding goats, water wars, hay ride, neon ride (music is terrific), paint ball was a blast! This campground did not disappoint. Caution: the speed limit in 4.93 mph. Do not exceed.
