Apache Family Campground & Pier About

For South Carolina locals dreaming of a beach getaway that combines the joy of camping with direct access to the ocean and a wealth of amenities, Apache Family Campground & Pier in Myrtle Beach, SC, presents a compelling option. Located at 9700 Kings Rd, this well-established campground offers a unique blend of coastal charm and family-friendly facilities, making it a popular choice for those seeking a memorable vacation right here in our beautiful state. It's more than just a place to pitch a tent or park your RV; it’s an integrated resort experience centered around one of the longest wooden piers on the East Coast.

Many campers, like Dale Sands, rave about their experiences at Apache, highlighting its cleanliness, excellent staff, and well-maintained facilities. Dale enthusiastically shares, "I've stayed at Apache campground three times over the last couple of years, and I absolutely love the place! Everything is neat, well maintained, and very clean. Staff is excellent, trash pickup is excellent, dogs are always on leash and well behaved, it's just an excellent place to go camping with family and friends. I've never had a problem with anything, camping spots are large and each has its own picnic table and shelter, hookups are easy to do and everything works as advertised. The pier is excellent with a great bar and grill, I absolutely love the pier because of the observation point at the end of it and it's clean and well maintained. I highly recommend staying at Apache campground." This glowing review paints a picture of a well-run, enjoyable environment perfect for family and friends, with the pier as a standout feature.

However, as with any popular destination, experiences can vary, and it's important to consider all perspectives. Another recent guest offered a more mixed review, stating, "We just spent a week at this campground. Let's begin with the pros. Great restaurant there that we enjoyed. The food was delicious. Close to the beach and they had a nice pier. Now, here are the cons. The site that we had was terrible. We pull up on the site and had to pick up trash and cigarette butts. The sites are VERY CLOSE together. So if you don't mind no privacy or not putting much out on your site then this is the place for you! Woken up at 1 in the morning to kids riding around in golf carts. Not a very good experience at all and will never come here again. Not understanding all the great reviews to be honest." This feedback points to potential challenges with site spacing, cleanliness upon arrival at specific sites, and noise, suggesting that privacy and quiet enjoyment might be considerations for some.

Awesome place. We had Site 140 with our 29 foot travel trailer. Can’t get much closer to beach. Sites are tight but like I said the proximity to the beach makes up for it completely. Everything is clean, people are friendly. Ice cream, restaurant, pier, beach , fishing , gift shop are all on site. Tanger outlets are around the corner. But my favorite thing of all, 5 days during Spring Break in Myrtle beach all for around $300. We will definitely be back this summer.

The description of the Vacation Rentals says “These units are fully furnished and equipped with all the amenities”. However, deep into the ‘reservation policy’ pages after the paragraphs on no pets and no smoking it says “ Please be aware that our Leisure Living Vacation Rentals do not include linens, pillow covers, or extra blankets. ” Didn’t think we’d have to make a trip to Walmart for sheets and towels before going to bed! This should be clearly stated and not buried in the fine print.
