Introduction / Overview
For New Hampshire families seeking a local retreat that perfectly balances the tranquility of nature with an exciting roster of activities, the Autumn Hills Campground in Weare is a well-known name. Nestled on a picturesque wooded hillside adjacent to Daniels Lake, this family-owned and operated destination prides itself on offering a friendly, family-focused camping experience in the heart of South Central New Hampshire.
Autumn Hills caters to a broad spectrum of campers, from those arriving in the largest RVs to those who prefer the simplicity of a tent and sleeping bag. The layout is designed to maximize the natural, hilly landscape, providing a mix of spacious, level sites, some of which offer excellent privacy among the trees. The commitment to maintaining a superior guest experience is evident in the consistently clean and well-maintained grounds. Visitors frequently highlight the cleanliness of the facilities, often calling the bathhouses "spotless" and "the best maintained" they have encountered, a significant plus for any camping trip.
While the atmosphere is generally peaceful and relaxing—with quiet hours respected by most campers—Autumn Hills is renowned for its lively, energetic themed weekends. These events, ranging from "Christmas in July" to "Wet 'N Wild" and various music nights, create a vibrant community feel. This diverse approach to entertainment means that while the core experience is a serene natural getaway, guests should consult the schedule if they are seeking a particularly quiet weekend, as some events, including live bands and dances, can generate significant noise, sometimes late into the evening. The campground’s reputation as a "hidden gem" for family-friendly fun makes it a favorite among local New Hampshire residents.

Hidden Gem- A wonderful stay at Autumn Hill Campground! The entire campground- including the bathrooms, beach and pool area- was clean and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful, answering all our questions with a smile. We stayed on site T12, which was large, private and conveniently located near a bathroom. The campground is a bit hilly so renting a golf cart made it easy to get around and added to the fun. Quiet hours were respected , and it was clear that the other campers were enjoying themselves to. We loved the relaxing atmosphere, appreciated the small on site camp store and the fun themed weekends they offer. Whether you are looking for a peaceful getaway or a family friendly camping trip. Autumn Hill Campground is definitely worth a visit.
Jul 26, 2025 · Karen HurleyAre you kidding me? Nice enough campground. But whose idea was it to bring in a full rock band right next to a bunch of camp sites? This isn't even the pavilion, so we had no way of knowing to avoid it when we booked. Currently trying to soothe three very cranky children on what was supposed to be a calming family get away. Yes, quiet hours are 11pm. But who reasonably books a camping trip expecting to be back stage to a rock concert right up until the very last minute? Never coming back here again.
Aug 17, 2025 · Isaiah ChildsExtremely disappointed. Im awake at midnight right now because of how loud it is. There's a band next to the campsites playing music all night loudly, drinking, cursing. NOT Family friendly, NOT quiet, NOT at all what the reviews said. For a get away I so badly wanted, I just want to cry.
