I will admit, this is a piece of history that has changed in a beautiful way. I miss the U shaped dock and anchored raft; it was nice to see a boat dock still there as well as the changing house. That said, the new viewing dock, updated shoreline with benches and campsites are a positive addition. It is a peaceful oasis close to a small town offering essential basics. The lake is a quiet place with area specific opportunities for swimming, fishing, canoeing, boating or simply taking in the beauty it offers. Activity seperation provides for safety as well as peaceful coexistence of activities. Even at peek activity, there is plenty of room for everyone as it is a right-size gem among the 'Land of Lakes'. Sometimes the best places aren't the renown places everyone visits. You will drive along part of it as you travel the highway; might as well stop a bit, or longer, and really enjoy it; you won't regret it - as the locals say, "oh ya for sure, ya betcha!" Out of respect for campsite occupants, I didn't take pictures of them.

Stayed 2 nights. Easy to find and quiet (our weekend anyway) :) Owner very responsive and easy to work with, not direct on site during our weekend, but not a problem for us! Each site is tucked in and wooded. Next to main road and quick access to Giant's Ridge Recreation area.

The beach, dock, and fishing launch are nice. Bangors loop is right by the highway and very loud all night long. Some of the other campsites were loud late into the morning as well. Campsite sold us wet firewood and it mostly just smoked and steamed and we had to go out to eat since fire cooking was not an option. A lot of all summer campers (rv's) here so it was like a little community. With all the camping areas nearby I doubt we will ever return.
