Known for its welcoming atmosphere and diverse offerings, Buffalo Valley Campground has consistently earned its reputation as a "great campground" by locals and visitors alike.
What truly sets Buffalo Valley Campground apart, as highlighted by numerous satisfied campers, is its remarkable variety of sites designed to cater to different preferences. While some campgrounds might offer a uniform experience, Buffalo Valley excels in providing choices that enhance your stay. As one insightful review points out, if you're looking for seclusion and vast space, the "electric" part of the campground, "hidden back in the woods," is highly recommended. Sites like 31 and 32 are frequently lauded for being "frequently huge," with Site 31 being particularly praised for feeling "like we had a whole state park to ourselves." This level of spaciousness, "at least four times the size of your normal campground site," is truly amazing and a significant draw for those seeking a more private, immersed experience.
Beyond the exceptional campsites, Buffalo Valley Campground goes the extra mile to ensure there's "always something fun going on," with a "fun restaurant and bar" right on site. This unique combination of natural beauty, varied camping options, and engaging activities makes it an ideal destination for anyone in the Minnesota region looking for a comprehensive and enjoyable camping adventure. It’s a place where the spirit of outdoor recreation thrives alongside comfortable conveniences, making it a truly special find in the heart of our beloved state.

Its proximity to Duluth, a major hub for tourism and outdoor activities, is a significant advantage. For locals, this means less travel time and more time enjoying their vacation.
The campground’s address places it conveniently within reach of major roadways, ensuring a smooth journey whether you're coming from the Twin Cities, Iron Range, or other parts of the region. Customer Reviews
Overall, this is a great campground. Here’s a few spots that I’ve put together in the last couple of days. Pros: If you stay here, make sure and stay in the “electric “part. It’s hidden back in the woods and the sites are frequently huge if you stay in sites 31 and 32. My recommendation is to stay in Site 31, it was like we had a whole state part to ourselves . It’s at least four times the size of your normal campground site. It was amazing. Cons: This is the first campground that I’ve come across that charges for the showers as you’re taking a shower. It was $.50 for four minutes and even has a quarter machine at all of the four showers. I think, maybe as a hint to get us to leave, they started weed eating outside our site at 8:30 am the day we were leaving. Overall, I recommend this campground. Like I said, stay in the “non-full hook up “sites as they are secluded and have huge trees around them. The full hook up sites are in an open lot with no shade and your right next to one another.
Family friendly and pet friendly campground in Duluth, MN. Beautiful camping and fun restaurant and bar. Always something fun going on. Also, right off the Munger State trail.
We loved this campground! We didn’t have a long enough hose for the water hookup, so Darrel (the manager) brought one out immediately and we could keep it all night. All the staff was so nice and welcoming. Campground was so clean and nice trails to walk around. The bar & grill had great food and service. 10/10!
Overall a great campground. Clean, quiet, just outside of Duluth and it has an entrance to a great family bike trail. We've stayed a handful of times here with our camper. They could use a 2nd bathhouse down in the lower camp at some point, but have smaller toilets well staged around the sites. Highly recommended.
Very nice, well kept campground. We definitely will camp here next time we come to Duluth. Darrell is a 5 star guy. We were stranded in town when the alternator went out of our Surburban. Darrell came to our rescue and took my husband to town to get a new one so he could repair it. It was a Sunday mind you and he was right there!💕 We had our 4 grandchildren with and he offered to take us back to the campground so we didn't have to wait, but we were in the shade so we were fine as it was a 90⁰ day. Can't say enough good about this place . 5 💥 for sure!!
