Camp Restoration Point About

For those of us in Oklahoma who organize youth camps, church retreats, or large family reunions, finding a facility that truly meets the needs of a big group can be a significant undertaking. That’s where Camp Restoration Point in Hulbert, Oklahoma, offers a remarkable solution, standing out as a dedicated and well-equipped venue designed precisely for such gatherings. It provides a unique blend of robust infrastructure and a beautiful natural setting, making it an ideal choice for creating memorable experiences right here in our state.

One satisfied visitor enthusiastically shared, "So nice to have a place to go for youth camps relatively close to Northwest Arkansas. The lodge here is amazing. The cabins are nice and the lake is also a good way to cool off in the summer months." This highlights the appeal of Camp Restoration Point not just for Oklahomans, but for groups across the region, emphasizing its comfortable accommodations and access to the lake. The facility's focus on supporting group activities is evident in its amenities.

Crucially, Camp Restoration Point is a facility primarily "available to members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints," offering a dedicated space for "Camping for a few or big groups!" This specialization means the infrastructure is specifically tailored for larger gatherings. The "industrial kitchen made to feed large groups" is a game-changer for event organizers, and the availability of "tent cabins with bunks to rent" alongside "camp style bathrooms and showers" ensures practical and comfortable lodging for many. Furthermore, the peace of mind offered by "2 large underground storm shelters available for inclement weather" speaks volumes about the foresight and care put into this unique Oklahoma retreat, situated conveniently on the shores of Fort Gibson Lake.

Location and Accessibility

Camp Restoration Point is strategically located at S Rocky Haven Rd, Hulbert, OK 74441, USA. This address places it squarely in the beautiful Green Country region of northeastern Oklahoma, an area known for its rolling hills, lush forests, and, most notably, the expansive Fort Gibson Lake. The campground's position directly "on the shores of Fort Gibson Lake" is a significant advantage, offering scenic views and direct access to various water-based activities that can enhance any group's experience.

While the specific road, S Rocky Haven Rd, indicates a more secluded setting, its general location within Hulbert ensures a reasonable level of accessibility. Hulbert is a small town, but it’s within a comfortable driving distance from larger cities and towns in Oklahoma and even parts of Northwest Arkansas, as noted by a reviewer. Major state highways that lead to the Fort Gibson Lake area would provide the main routes for travel, and then local roads would guide visitors to the camp.

It's worth noting that while the natural setting provides a tranquil escape, the review mentions that "The roads are going to need some work," indicating that visitors might encounter unpaved or less-maintained stretches. However, the reviewer also expresses confidence that "over time I’m sure we’ll be able to get them in good shape too," suggesting an ongoing commitment to improvement. Despite this, the overall accessibility to Fort Gibson Lake and the natural beauty of the area make the journey well worthwhile for groups seeking a dedicated retreat space.

Promotions or Special Offers

As a facility primarily serving specific organizational groups, particularly members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Camp Restoration Point operates more on a group booking model than on seasonal "promotions or special offers" seen in commercial campgrounds. However, the inherent "offers" lie in the value and specialized facilities provided:

  • Cost-Effective Group Hosting: The ability to host "family reunions at a fair price" suggests that the overall cost for large groups to utilize the facilities, including accommodations and a fully equipped kitchen, is designed to be economical compared to booking individual accommodations and separate catering or kitchen rentals.
  • Value of Industrial Kitchen & Amenities: The commercial-grade kitchen, including large fridges, freezers, and other supplies, is a significant value proposition. This allows groups to self-cater efficiently, leading to substantial savings on food costs compared to relying on external caterers. This built-in amenity is a major "offer" for budget-conscious organizations.
  • Inclusion of Safety Features: The provision of "2 large underground storm shelters" is an invaluable "offer" that provides critical safety and peace of mind, especially in Oklahoma's weather patterns, without an additional charge for this essential amenity.
  • Tailored for Specific Groups: For members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, the entire setup and ethos of Camp Restoration Point are a "special offer" in themselves, providing a welcoming and appropriate environment specifically designed for their activities and values.

For precise pricing, availability, and to discuss the specific needs of your group, it is essential to contact Camp Restoration Point directly. This is a great camp with fully functioning ax units and great camp facilities. You’re out in the boonies and there are lots of bugs but that’s to be expected. Cell service still works here and it’s tons of fun!
