Customer Reviews
Love this camp. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. I am also very pleased with the taste and quality of the food in the Dining Hall. I’ve told so many people about how awesome Shin-Go-Beek is. I will be back again, and again, and again!
Last year we took our Scouts here and we all loved the experience! It's beautiful and quiet! I highly recommend this camping location to everyone!
I went to boyscout camp here when I was 7. I lived in Melrose Park, Ill. I remember that we shot either 22 rifles, or bb-guns, and we could buy hatchetts at the commissary. I cut a short-cut through the woods with the one I bought from our cabin to the mess hall because it was a faster way to go. I used my new compass I bought to make it straight. They did a good job teaching me how to use it. I got in lots of trouble for the new trail. After two weeks in camp we went home on the school busses. I remember all the boys lowering the windows and yelling at all the pretty girls as the bus had to slow down when we went through all the small towns. What a time we had. Also I didn't understand why they were yelling and whistling at all the girls until later. Oh yeah, I still have that hatchett.
I would always attend the Scout camp here as a young Boy Scout! We always stayed in the Illini campsite. The camp is beautiful and I have so many great memories here!
A wonderful place where I grew up and now an independent campground for everyone! I look forward to my next trip as soon as I pull out of the lot.
