Introduction / Overview
For New Jersey residents seeking a simplified, affordable, and strategically located housing option,
Carteret Mobile Park
(also known as My Home in Carteret) stands out as a premier choice in Central Jersey. Located in the welcoming borough of Carteret in Middlesex County, this established community offers a compelling alternative to traditional stick-built homes and apartment renting. It is proudly a family-owned business with a legacy in the manufactured home industry stretching back over 60 years in New Jersey, demonstrating a deep commitment to providing quality, well-maintained housing. The core philosophy of Carteret Mobile Park revolves around elevating the perception of manufactured housing. By consistently removing older units and replacing them with modern, high-quality, energy-efficient manufactured homes, the community strives to offer an attractive, durable, and cost-effective living environment. The emphasis here is on ownership; all homes are for sale and owner-occupied—the community strictly prohibits renting and subleasing. This focus on long-term homeownership is instrumental in cultivating the peaceful, clean, and organized atmosphere that residents consistently praise.
The community is frequently described as a 'hidden gem' for those looking to downsize, retire, or purchase their first home without the overwhelming cost of a conventional house in the highly competitive Central Jersey market. While the community is known for its structure and clear rules—which are essential for maintaining the high quality of life—residents appreciate that these guidelines ensure a pleasant and respectful environment for all. For about two Decades, my father and his wife lived in this community, in a trailer they purchased brand new. They were model residents — never once late on a bill, always kept the property in excellent condition, and never caused a single problem. My father was the last to pass away. Because the original executors of his will stepped down, the court needed to appoint an administrator (c.t.a.) before we could access estate funds. Management was fully aware of this situation and knew we were waiting on the court’s authority — something entirely outside our control. During this short waiting period, only two months of unpaid rent accrued after his passing. Despite a flawless 20+ year payment history, management wasted no time taking immediate legal action. No courtesy call. No grace period. No compassion — just paperwork and threats. Yes, business is business, but treating a grieving family — especially one who had been loyal, responsible residents for decades — as nothing more than an account in arrears says a lot about the priorities here. The place is pleasant and well-maintained, but the rules and enforcement are rigid to the point of feeling like a strict HOA — even when showing a little humanity would have cost them nothing. Edited for reply #1. Dear Management, Your reply states that I am “not aware of all the facts” and that “the internet is not the place to disclose personal issues.” Respectfully, my review did not disclose personal issues — it described the way a loyal resident’s estate was treated after his passing. That is not private; it is a matter of how management conducts business. The facts are clear: My father and his wife were residents here for two decades, never once late on rent, and always in good standing. After his death, the estate required court appointment of an administrator before any payments could legally be made — a process outside the family’s control. During this short period, only two months of arrears accrued. Instead of extending courtesy to a family grieving the loss of a long-time resident, management immediately pursued legal action. These are not misunderstandings — they are verifiable facts. My review was written to reflect how quickly compassion was set aside in favor of procedure. I fully agree that businesses must protect their interests, but the manner in which this was handled sends a clear message to current and prospective residents about what to expect should they face hardship. That is why I felt compelled to share it here. Respectfully, Anthony

Sep 14, 2023 · Katherine PardoMy in-laws just purchased a mobile home here after renting for years. I was not pleased with the idea at first but then I visited the community I realized it was clean, well kept, quiet, and pleasant. They have a lot of rules but that in my opinion is what keeps the place in such a good condition. Maria helped us through the closing and walked us through the process. The lease covers all the rules in black and white and are enforced with everyone which I think is very fair. :)
