Cedar Ridge RV Park About
For Texans seeking an RV park experience in the charming area of Glen Rose, Cedar Ridge RV Park has been a destination for many. Located near popular attractions, it offers a base for exploring the "Dinosaur Capital of Texas" and beyond. However, as with any accommodation, it's essential to understand the full picture before making a commitment. Recent guest experiences highlight critical aspects that prospective visitors should consider carefully.
Glen Rose, TX, is renowned for its unique natural history and family-friendly attractions like Dinosaur Valley State Park and Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. An RV park in this area can be a convenient lodging option, providing full hookups and proximity to these draws. This article aims to provide a factual overview of Cedar Ridge RV Park, incorporating both its advertised features and the recent feedback from visitors.
Cedar Ridge RV Park is situated in Glen Rose, Texas, and presents itself as a suitable location for RV travelers and those needing a place to stay for work in the area. The park offers various RV spots, including pull-through sites for larger motorhomes and back-in spaces for smaller campers and trailers. It aims to provide essential amenities for a comfortable stay, such as full hookups, restrooms, showers, and laundry facilities.
However, recent reviews from customers indicate significant concerns regarding the park's condition and management. While some positive remarks are made about the staff, the overall sentiment points to issues with cleanliness, maintenance, and the general living environment. This suggests that while Cedar Ridge RV Park offers basic services, prospective residents should be prepared for potential challenges based on current public feedback.
Cedar Ridge RV Park is located at 4475 US-67, Glen Rose, TX 76043, USA. This address places it directly off a major highway, US-67, ensuring straightforward accessibility for RVs of all sizes. Glen Rose, often called the "Dinosaur Capital of Texas," is known for its natural beauty and unique attractions. The park's location offers convenient access to several popular local destinations, making it a potentially attractive spot for tourists and long-term visitors alike. Nearby attractions include:
- Fossil Rim Wildlife Center
- Dinosaur Valley State Park
- The Brazos River, for kayaking and wading
- The Creation Evidence Museum
- The "Passion on the Christ" play (seasonal)
While the location provides excellent access to recreational activities and local amenities like fast food places and restaurants in Glen Rose, potential residents should note that the park's setting directly on a highway may mean some road noise. The multiple entrances off US Highway 67, indicated by signs at the street and main building, contribute to its easy navigability.
Cedar Ridge RV Park advertises offering several key services essential for RV and long-term living. However, it's important to consider these in light of recent customer experiences:
- Full Hookups: All RV spots are stated to include full hookups, covering electricity (30 or 50 Amp options), city water, and sewer connections at all spaces. This is a fundamental requirement for most RVers.
- Restrooms and Showers: The park provides restroom and shower facilities, which are advertised as free for guests. However, recent reviews critically mention a lack of maintenance for these facilities, with images reportedly showing their poor condition.
- Laundry Facilities: "Free laundry" is listed as an amenity. Nonetheless, guests have reported that the machines are "constantly being used" and that people often use "other people's plugs that would make our breakers trip," indicating operational issues and potential overcrowding. There were also reports of slow cycles and a lack of essential supplies like detergent or fabric softener.
- WiFi: Complimentary WiFi is available. Some reviews mention that there are "antennas across the park," suggesting an effort to provide a signal, though specific performance details are not consistently positive across all reviews.
- Trash Management: Dumpsters are located behind the main building and at the rear-east corner of the park. However, guests have reported that trash took "over 2 weeks to even get taken care of," and that tenants needed to "inform the manager or whoever that the trash needs to be taken out instead of having a schedule with the trash company," suggesting an inconsistent waste management system.
Based on the provided information and recent customer reviews, the features and highlights of Cedar Ridge RV Park offer a mixed picture:
- Proximity to Attractions: The park's location off US-67 provides direct access to Glen Rose's famous attractions, including Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and Dinosaur Valley State Park.
- Variety of Site Sizes: The park offers pull-through sites for "large class A motorhomes with a tow behind vehicle" and smaller back-in spaces for "truck campers and trailers," accommodating a range of RV sizes.
- Full Utility Connections: All sites are equipped with 30 or 50 Amp electricity, city water, and sewer connections, which are standard and necessary features.
- On-Site Manager (Paula): While management is broadly criticized, one reviewer singled out "Paula the 'manager'" as feeling "like home" and being "the best part of the place," suggesting that individual interactions with staff can be positive, despite broader systemic issues.
- Pet-Friendly Policy: The park has a pet policy requiring pets to be leashed and owners to clean up after them, which is a common and appreciated feature for pet owners.
- Tight Spot Proximity: A significant negative highlight is that "the spots are uncomfortably close together," leading to a lack of privacy where residents "could hear everything" from their neighbors.
- Pest Infestation Issues: Multiple reviews report severe pest problems, including "fleas out small child," "roaches, fleas, and small black bugs that weren’t ants invaded the entire campsite," and "feral cats that reproduced like rabbits," indicating a lack of pest control.
- Sewer Odor: A "horrendous" "sewer smell" was reported by guests, pointing to potential issues with the park's sewage system.
- Lack of Bathroom/Shower Maintenance: The restrooms and showers are explicitly stated as having "absolutely no maintenance whatsoever," with implied poor conditions.
- Inconsistent Supply Stocking: Reviewers noted having to wait "at least a week for 2 of 3" essential items like toilet paper, paper towels, and hand soap, suggesting poor stocking.
Based on the available information and recent customer reviews, Cedar Ridge RV Park does not explicitly advertise any current promotions or special offers in the traditional sense of discounts or limited-time deals. The pricing structure appears to be based on daily, weekly, and monthly rates for 30 Amp and 50 Amp RV sites. For example, a 30 Amp RV site starts at $35.00 daily, $150.00 weekly, and $425.00 monthly, with 50 Amp sites slightly higher at $40.00 daily, $175.00 weekly, and $450.00 monthly.
While "free laundry" and "free WiFi" are listed as amenities included in the stay, the reviews raise concerns about the functionality and availability of these services. Therefore, prospective guests should consider these "free" amenities with caution and verify their operational status upon arrival. Any potential "savings" from these included services might be offset by the reported issues. It is always recommended to contact the park directly to confirm current rates and understand exactly what is covered and functioning.
To inquire further about Cedar Ridge RV Park, discuss availability, or ask specific questions regarding the park's current conditions and services, you can use the following contact details:

Given the significant concerns raised in recent reviews, prospective visitors are strongly advised to contact the park directly and, if possible, visit the site in person before committing to a stay. This would allow for a direct assessment of the conditions and an opportunity to address specific questions with management.
For Texans considering an RV park in the Glen Rose area, Cedar Ridge RV Park's location near popular attractions like Fossil Rim Wildlife Center and Dinosaur Valley State Park is undoubtedly a draw. It offers convenient access to these unique Texas landmarks and provides essential full hookups for RVs, accommodating various sizes. The stated availability of free laundry and WiFi are also typically attractive features for RV travelers seeking extended stays.
However, it is crucial for locals to be fully aware of the significant and widespread issues consistently reported by recent visitors. The concerns about uncomfortably close RV spots, pervasive pest infestations (fleas, roaches, unidentifiable bugs, feral cats), overwhelming sewer odors, and a severe lack of maintenance in restrooms and showers paint a challenging picture. Furthermore, issues with trash collection and the stocking of essential supplies, coupled with reports of an unengaged management, indicate that the park may not meet expected standards for comfort, cleanliness, or even basic hygiene.
While the initial cost might seem "to save a couple dollars," the described living conditions suggest that these savings may come at a considerable personal cost in terms of comfort, cleanliness, and overall experience. For Texans prioritizing a pleasant, clean, and well-managed RV park, especially for long-term stays, it would be prudent to "spend a little more for a better location" or conduct a thorough on-site inspection and direct inquiry into these specific concerns before choosing Cedar Ridge RV Park.
Customer Reviews
Ugh the ppl here were amazing, Paula the “manager” felt like home she was the best part of the place. But unfortunately we would never go back. The spots are uncomfortably close together, we could hear everything 🙄 and the flies …. (in an earlier video it shows) fleas out small child were come in with bites, sewer smell was horrendous, restroom/showers are … you see in my pics, the (free) laundry took forever to do and were constantly being used and ppl using other ppls plugs that would make our breakers trip.. just a no go for us. If I could out zero stars I would.
Now I never do reviews, however, whoever wants to try and save a couple dollars here better know about this place. Absolute worst experience of my lifetime. The neighbors behind my camper had such an awful smell coming from there. There was numerous feral cats that reproduced like rabbits. Roaches, fleas, and small black bugs that weren’t ants invaded the entire campsite. Absolutely no maintenance on the bathrooms/showers whatsoever. Trash took a little over 2 weeks to even get taken care of, and I had found out that, we as the tenants of the campsite, need to inform the manager or whoever that the trash needs to be taken out instead of having a schedule with the trash company. If you want toilet paper/paper towels/hand soap, be ready to bring your own. Had to wait at least a week for 2 of 3 of those items to even be seen. The ‘manager’ onsite doesn’t do anything as far as I know, maybe that’s who brought in the supplies, but they couldn’t even get placed into where they belonged to. I’d give this 0 stars if I could. Absolutely hated this place and the only gleam of hope were my neighbors infront of me. Other than that, either save your money, or spend a little more for a better location.
Simple place for a weekend get away. Owner very friendly and accommodating. Definitely will return when our travels take us to this area.
EV FRIENDLY! We loved this place! Very clean and tidy. Owners were very friendly. Their teenager came and played with our toddler for a few hours while we were sitting outside. Good water pressure, good power. We rented a combo 30-50amp spot and were able to power our 30amp camper and charge our EV on 50amp at the same time. The new owners are really turning this place around! They inherited a couple of rough full timers that they’re working on cleaning up. All the neighbors were extremely friendly and the camp was quiet at night. The bathrooms were very clean with FREE washer & dryers. Looking forward to staying here again!
