Location and Accessibility

Cedar Trail RV Park is strategically located at 966 AL-165, Fort Mitchell, AL 36856, USA. This address places it in Fort Mitchell, Alabama, a community with historical significance and direct ties to the larger metropolitan area of Columbus, Georgia, which is just across the state line. AL-165 (also known as Highway 165) is a state route, providing straightforward access for RVs of all sizes.

One of the most notable aspects of Cedar Trail RV Park's location is its proximity to Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning), Georgia. It is conveniently situated just minutes from the back gate of this major military installation. This makes it an ideal spot for military personnel, their families, or visitors attending events or visiting loved ones at the base.

Beyond its immediate vicinity to Fort Moore, the park's location offers good accessibility to regional attractions and essential services. While Fort Mitchell itself is a smaller community, the nearby cities of Phenix City, Alabama, and Columbus, Georgia, provide a comprehensive range of amenities. Within a short drive, RVers can access:

  • Shopping and Dining: Numerous grocery stores, retail centers, and diverse dining options are available in Phenix City and Columbus, catering to all needs and tastes.

  • Outdoor Recreation: The Chattahoochee Riverwalk provides miles of paved paths for walking, biking, and enjoying the riverfront. Other natural areas like Flat Rock Park and Oxbow Meadows Environmental Learning Center offer opportunities for outdoor activities and nature exploration.

  • Medical Facilities: Access to healthcare services is available in the larger surrounding cities.

While the park is situated near a highway and a train line, which some visitors have noted contributes to ambient noise, its direct access to AL-165 and proximity to Fort Moore make it a highly convenient stop for many travelers and those with specific needs in the area. The ease of getting in and out with an RV, coupled with its central location to area attractions, makes it a practical choice for exploring East Alabama and West Georgia.

Promotions or Special Offers

Specific promotions or special offers for RV parks like Cedar Trail RV Park are not always widely advertised publicly, as is common with many smaller, independently owned campgrounds. However, it is always recommended to inquire directly with the park management about any current or upcoming deals. Based on common practices within the RV park industry, you might find or be able to inquire about:

  • Weekly and Monthly Rate Discounts: Cedar Trail RV Park explicitly offers weekly and monthly rates that are typically more economical per night than the daily rate. If you plan an extended stay, these rates represent a significant saving and are a common form of promotion in RV parks.

  • New Guest Incentives: Occasionally, parks might offer a small discount on the first night or week, or waive an application fee for new visitors, as an incentive to try out the park.

  • Military Discounts: Given its proximity to Fort Moore (formerly Fort Benning), it would be wise to inquire if Cedar Trail RV Park offers any special discounts for active military personnel, veterans, or their families. Many businesses in the area cater to the military community.

  • Seasonal Specials: Depending on the time of year and demand, parks may offer temporary promotions to attract visitors during slower seasons. It's worth asking if there are any off-peak specials available.

  • Referral Programs: Some parks have programs where existing guests receive a credit for referring new campers, and the new campers might also benefit from a discount.

  • Group Rates: If you are traveling with a caravan or a large group of RVs, inquire if any special group rates can be arranged.

Since there is no dedicated section for public promotions, the best approach is always to contact Cedar Trail RV Park directly using the provided phone numbers. Worst place we have stayed all year! First the good. Owner was nice. They have laundry onsite $1.5 a wash $1 to dry. The power poles were new and done right. Weekly rate was pretty good, of you stay that long. Now the bad. The online nightly rate says $40, but he charged me $45. The road noise is bad. There is some light industrial noise and air traffic. Train was pretty loud at night. Sites were so close together we could hear our neighbors as well. With all of that, this is one of the loudest places in America we have stayed at. $45 a night is resort prices, yet there was no picnic tables, no fire rings, no book/DVD library, no wifi, no pool, no walking trails and the place is covered in weeds/stickers. We planned to stay a week and at that rate it is fair, but it was so bad we took the highway robbery option and stayed overnight. Owners just bought it, so maybe they will improve the place going forward. I am not of the opinion that you charge resort prices without providing the amenities. The sites were made with crushed gravel and it was not very flat either. I called before our arrival, but didn't reserve. When we arrived I was a little surprised to not find an office. Apparently they own the park down the street as well, so we had to wait around for them to come up. We are ok with that because we have patience and it let us look around first. Just thought I would mention it because some travelers might want to know. I will put up a picture of our map so other travelers can see, we have traveled extensively and know about good camp sites, which this is definitely not.

At first things seemed ok for my husband and I for a few days and the spots were spacious. After we parked we noticed the camp was not well maintained. Reeked of dog poop. I was informed that the long term camper next to us had drugs going in and out of it. I’m glad we got out of there. I wouldn’t recommend this rv park.

Very quiet lowkey Campground. Onsite laundry which is kept extremely clean. Owners are very responsive and accommodating and the caretaker staff are very passionate about their work. 5 minutes from the back gate at Benning (24 hr access gate). Great experience overall with a 3 months stay while at Fort Benning.

Beautiful park in great location. Many large trees provide a great setting and shade. Park has a laundry facility and I'm told internet and a dog park will be in shortly. Management was great and easy to work with. Park is well maintained and safe for family.
