The park is noted for being "conveniently located, tucked away but near town," offering the best of both worlds: a quiet, secluded feel without sacrificing accessibility to local amenities.
A key highlight of its location is its proximity to major transportation arteries. Charred Oak RV Park is "only two miles off I-64 at Exit 133 in Morehead, Kentucky." This direct access to Interstate 64 makes it incredibly easy to reach from various parts of Kentucky and beyond, minimizing stressful navigation for RV drivers. The short distance from the interstate means less time on smaller roads, which is particularly beneficial for larger rigs.
Despite being near the interstate, the park maintains a "quite park like setting with lots of tree shade," suggesting a successful blend of accessibility and natural ambiance. Its proximity to Morehead, a vibrant town, means that essential services, dining, and shopping are easily reachable when needed. Furthermore, being located in Morehead positions campers ideally for exploring popular local attractions like Cave Run Lake and the vast Daniel Boone National Forest, both offering extensive outdoor recreational opportunities. Charred Oak RV Park prides itself on offering the essential services that RVers need for a comfortable and convenient stay, focusing on functionality and value.
-
Full Hookup RV Sites: A primary offering of Charred Oak RV Park is its provision of full hookups at each site. This includes:
- Electric Hookups: Sites offer electric connections (likely 30-amp and potentially 50-amp, as common in RV parks) for powering your rig.
- Water Hookups: Potable water connections are available at each site, though one review noted a "sketchy" water hookup, suggesting it's wise to be prepared or inspect upon arrival.
- Sewer Hookups: Direct sewer connections are provided, allowing for hassle-free waste disposal.
-
Decent Size Spots: The RV spots are described as "decent size," ensuring ample space for parking rigs and setting up outdoor areas.
-
Level Sites: The park offers "7 level, easy back in lots and 3 large pull through lots," which is a significant convenience for RVers, making setup much simpler.
-
Picnic Tables: Each site is equipped with a picnic table, perfect for outdoor dining and relaxation.

Fire Rings: Sites include a fire ring, allowing campers to enjoy traditional campfires (always ensuring safety and adherence to any local burn bans).
-
No On-Site Overseer / Self-Service: It's noted that "No one on site to oversee, so you are on your own." This suggests a self-service model, which can appeal to independent travelers who prefer minimal interaction and simply need a spot with basic hookups.

However, its pricing structure itself serves as a continuous "special offer" for those seeking value. Based on public information and typical RV park models, Kentuckians can expect:
-
Very Reasonable Daily Rates: The primary "promotion" is its consistently low cost, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious RVers. This makes it an excellent choice for short-term stays, including quick overnight stops or weekend trips where amenities are less of a concern than price and location.
-
Affordable Weekly and Monthly Rates: For those looking for extended stays, particularly traveling workers or individuals seeking a longer retreat, the park offers competitive weekly and monthly rates. This makes it a very economical option for long-term parking, as electric is often included in these extended stay prices.
-
No Hidden Fees for Basic Amenities: Given its no-bathhouse/no-store policy, visitors aren't paying for amenities they might not use, ensuring the price reflects the core service of a full-hookup RV site in a peaceful setting.
While formal "promotions" like seasonal discounts or loyalty programs are not widely advertised, the park's consistent low pricing is its main appeal. It’s important to directly contact Charred Oak RV Park for the most current rates and any potential seasonal changes in pricing. Customer Reviews
This review is tricky. Location is conveniently located, tucked away but near town. Small 10 space Rv park, people were mostly workers and quiet, kept to themselves. Spots are decent size. Price was very reasonable. The bad, trash all over outside when we arrived that we had to clean up. The water hook up was pretty sketchy. No one on site to oversee, so you are on your own. If you are looking for low cost spot to park your rig with basics this is the place.
Great place. Tall beautiful trees, nice picnic tables, small hiking trail, fire ring, very peaceful.
This is a beautiful location. It is far enough off the main roads to be quiet and peaceful, but the access to the park and camping spots are very easy to navigate. The park is close to Eagle Trace golf course, Cave Run lake, and miles of hiking trails. The park is less than 10 minutes from Morehead where there are many restaurants, grocery stores, and regional artisan shopping opportunities. There is also a beautiful, well equipped regional airport less than 5 miles away. If you are looking for a place to relax for a few days, or a “home base” to explore this beautiful region of eastern Kentucky, I would highly recommend Charred Oak RV Park.
Gentleman that owned the place came out to meet us to make sure we were settled in ok and if we needed anything. Truly a nice man. Nice trees around lots , with lights that come on at night so you can walk your dog. Peaceful , easy to get into and slept well , quiet. I would definitely recommend this spot.
