Customer Reviews
This new campground adjacent to Sheffield Gem Mine has RV and tent sites, a nice wooden bathhouse, and spacious common area in a rolling hill/woods/meadow farm valley setting. Tent sites are in the woods, so it feels secluded, but they are still close to the bathhouse. Firewood is available too. The Cowee Valley setting is beautiful and the owner is awesome, too!
Some friends and I booked a campsite at Cowee in late October. I found the place online while looking for Gem Mines to visit. They have created such a hidden gem. If you are looking for a quiet, peaceful campground, you've found it. The recently remodeled bathroom were surprising nice and clean. Plus, the walk to the bathhouse is short and well lit(really appreciated this at night. So much better than a State Park Campground.
Tanya has done an amazing job of planning out each tent site for privacy and there is a spot to play cornhole & horse shoe toss. There are picnic tables and fire pits… set up for campers with electrical hook up. AND THE BATH HOUSE! She has re-purposed old things like sinks and mirrors, even the walls are recycled wood😍 And did I mention there is a clawfoot tub in one of the bathrooms? At a camp ground 😂 It should be called a GLAMPground😂😂 I love this place I will definitely be back again and again!
Went to Sheffield Gem Mine and then stayed a night at the campground. I would highly recommend both, they are very hospitable and have excellent accommodations for travelers for a fair price. Would stay again when coming through the area
