David's RV Park About

For many Texans, the RV lifestyle represents freedom, flexibility, and the joy of exploring our vast and beautiful state. Whether you’re a traveling professional, a retiree embracing the open road, or a family seeking a comfortable base for a long-term stay, finding the right RV park is paramount. In Pleasanton, Texas, a city renowned as the "Birthplace of the Cowboy," David's RV Park stands out as a welcoming and well-equipped destination designed to make your stay as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible.

David's RV Park is a family-owned establishment that prides itself on creating a friendly and accommodating environment for all its guests. Unlike some parks that cater strictly to short-term tourists, David's RV Park has clearly made efforts to ensure comfort for those planning extended stays, a common need for many Texans working in the area or enjoying seasonal visits. The park aims to combine essential amenities with thoughtful extras, all managed by a team that genuinely cares about your experience.

Public reviews for David's RV Park consistently highlight the positive interactions with the staff and the quality of the facilities. While some common RV park considerations, such as road noise or utility costs, are mentioned, the overall sentiment points towards a well-run and hospitable park. This article is crafted to provide a factual and comprehensive overview, drawing directly from available public information and customer testimonials. We'll explore the park's convenient location, the array of services it offers, its distinctive features, and how to get in touch, providing a balanced perspective for locals in Texas considering David's RV Park for their next visit or long-term home.

When choosing an RV park, Texans often look for a place that feels safe, offers good value, and provides a pleasant atmosphere. By presenting a detailed picture of David's RV Park, we aim to help prospective guests determine if this park in Pleasanton is the perfect fit for their needs, ensuring a comfortable and memorable stay in the heart of South Texas.

Location and Accessibility

David's RV Park is strategically located at 9360 US-281, Pleasanton, TX 78064, USA. This address places it directly on a major U.S. highway, US-281, which provides excellent accessibility for RVers traveling north or south through Texas. US-281 connects directly to San Antonio to the north and continues south towards various communities and the Texas-Mexico border, making the park a convenient stop for a wide range of travelers.

Pleasanton, often called the "Birthplace of the Cowboy," offers a friendly small-town atmosphere with essential local amenities. David's RV Park is "close enough to the city and local towns to be able to enjoy the amenities but just far enough in the country for peaceful quiet nights and fresh air." This means guests have easy access to Pleasanton's grocery stores (including a good HEB store and Walmart), restaurants, and local services without being immersed in a bustling urban environment.

For Texans needing access to larger metropolitan areas, the park's location on US-281 is a significant advantage. San Antonio, a major hub for employment, medical facilities, cultural attractions, and entertainment, is within a comfortable driving distance. This makes David's RV Park an appealing option for those working in the San Antonio area, military personnel at nearby bases, or individuals who want to explore the city's offerings like the Alamo, River Walk, or various museums, while residing in a quieter, potentially more affordable setting.

While the location on a highway offers great accessibility, one review does mention "a little road noise." However, this is a common trade-off for the convenience of direct highway access. The park is described as having "freshly paved roads and spaces that are roomy and private," facilitating easy maneuvering for even large RVs, such as the 40-foot Class A motorhome mentioned by a happy three-month guest. The overall accessibility and balance between convenience and a relatively peaceful environment make David's RV Park a strong contender for various needs in the Pleasanton area.

David's RV Park is committed to providing a comprehensive set of services to ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for all its guests, whether for a night or several months. Based on its official website and customer reviews, the park offers:

  • Full Hookup RV Sites: All 37 RV spaces are full hookup, including water, sewer, and electric connections (30 and 50 Amp available). This ensures all essential utilities are readily available at each site.

  • All-Inclusive Rates (for most utilities): The park states its rates are "all inclusive," covering water, sewer, garbage, and Wi-Fi. This simplifies budgeting for guests, as these utilities are typically included in the base rate.

  • Fiber Optic Wi-Fi: High-speed, fiber-optic Wi-Fi is available throughout the park, ensuring reliable internet access for work, communication, and entertainment.

  • Onsite Laundry Facilities: A modern laundry room equipped with washers and dryers is available, making it easy for guests to do their laundry without leaving the park.

  • Swimming Pool: The park features a swimming pool, providing a refreshing amenity for relaxation and enjoyment, especially during the hot Texas months.

  • Gated Dog Park: A secure, gated dog park is available for pets, allowing them a safe area to exercise and socialize off-leash. This is a significant convenience for pet owners.

  • Covered RV Spaces: Guests have the option to pay extra for "covered spaces," offering protection from the Texas sun and inclement weather, which is a valuable feature for long-term stays.

  • Spacious and Private Sites: The park offers "roomy and private" spaces, ensuring comfort and personal space for each RV, accommodating large rigs up to 40ft and even an enclosed trailer, as per a reviewer.

  • Onsite Manager: An "onsite manager" is available for convenience and assistance, ensuring responsive support for guests' needs.

  • Storage Available: The park offers storage options, which can be particularly useful for long-term guests or those with additional trailers or vehicles.

  • New Utilities: The park boasts "all new utilities," indicating modern infrastructure that provides reliable electric service (no "popping electric") and "poor water pressure" issues.

  • Playground: For families, a playground is available, offering a dedicated space for children to play and enjoy their stay.

  • Pets Welcome: The park is explicitly pet-friendly, welcoming furry companions (and providing a dog park).

It is always recommended to contact David's RV Park directly to confirm any specific service details, availability of covered spaces, and any nuances regarding utility inclusions or additional fees, especially for extended stays.

Features / Highlights

  • Exceptional Management and Customer Service: A key highlight is the positive interaction with the staff, particularly "Lucy," who was described as returning calls on a Sunday, inviting tours, and providing clear details. Reviewers consistently praise the "nice" and helpful managers who "don't bother you" but are responsive. This indicates a high level of guest satisfaction with the park's administration.

  • Accommodation for Large RVs: The park is capable of accommodating "40ft Class A motorhome and 24 foot enclosed trailer" comfortably, with "roomy and private" sites. This makes it suitable for a wide range of large rigs, which is often a critical factor for RVers.

  • Comprehensive Inclusions in Rates: The fact that water, sewer, garbage, and Wi-Fi are "all inclusive" in the rates simplifies budgeting and offers excellent value, removing the hassle of managing multiple utility bills (though one review noted electric costs "kept going up," suggesting this might be metered separately for long-term stays or subject to market fluctuations, which should be clarified upon inquiry).

  • Modern and Reliable Utilities: With "all new utilities," guests can expect "no popping electric or poor water pressure," which are common frustrations in older RV parks. This ensures a consistent and comfortable experience.

  • Covered Spaces Available: The option to pay extra for a "covered space" is a significant advantage, providing protection from the intense Texas sun, hail, or other severe weather, preserving the RV and increasing comfort during the day.

  • Family and Pet-Friendly Amenities: The presence of a "swimming pool," "playground," and a "gated dog park" demonstrates the park's commitment to catering to families with children and pet owners, offering dedicated spaces for recreation and exercise.

  • Convenient Onsite Laundry: The availability of "laundry facilities" on-site is a practical highlight, especially for long-term guests, reducing the need to travel off-site for essential services.

  • Flexibility for Short and Long-Term Stays: The park explicitly welcomes both "short term and long-term rentals," accommodating guests for a single night or for "several months," indicating its versatility for various travel plans.

Promotions or Special Offers

While specific, time-limited promotional offers are not consistently advertised in general public information, David's RV Park's pricing structure and features naturally offer value that can be considered a form of ongoing benefit for guests.

The park's official website indicates:

  • Tiered Rates: They offer daily, weekly, and monthly rates. The monthly rates typically provide the best value per night, starting "at $420" (though this rate may fluctuate). This is a common industry practice that serves as a built-in "promotion" for guests planning extended stays.

  • All-Inclusive Utilities (for most): Water, sewer, garbage, and Wi-Fi are "all included" in the rates, simplifying budgeting. While one review mentioned electricity costs increasing, it's essential to clarify with the park if electricity is fully included in the monthly rate or if it's metered separately above a certain allowance. If fully included, this is a significant saving.

  • Covered Space Option: While an "extra" cost, the availability of "carport monthly pricing" for covered spaces can be seen as a valuable offering, protecting your RV investment from the harsh Texas elements, potentially saving on maintenance and wear over time.

Given the positive feedback about the staff's helpfulness and transparency (as seen with Lucy providing "clear details"), the best approach for Texans interested in staying at David's RV Park is to contact them directly. This will allow you to:

  • Get the Most Current Rates: Prices can change, so a direct call ensures you have the latest daily, weekly, or monthly rates.

  • Inquire About Specific Inclusions: Clarify exactly what is included in the monthly rate regarding electricity, especially given the reviewer's comment.

  • Ask About Covered Space Availability and Pricing: Confirm costs and availability for these popular spots.

  • Learn About Any Seasonal or Long-Term Specials: The park may have unadvertised specials for extended stays or during off-peak seasons.

Direct communication will provide the most accurate and personalized information about pricing and any current offers relevant to your stay.

We were guests at the park for 3 months and are extremely happy with our stay there. We started our stay early in January. After looking at several other rv parks in the area and chose David's RV park based on our interaction with Lucy. She returned our call on a Sunday, invited us to visit and tour the park, and showed us 3 sites that would accommodate our 40ft Class A motorhome and 24 foot enclosed trailer. Lucy gave us clear details about the deposit, rate, and the laundry facility. We plan on staying there again when we travel back through Texas in the fall.
