Nice 5 day stay. We had some difficulty finding the check in spot and wish the park had better signage for directions to check in and site numbers. There are nice easy hiking trails and geocaching which was fun. We did use the laundry facilities and were glad it was a very low season as there is only one washer and dryer. Our site was pull through with water view and full hookups.
Feb 05, 2025 · Sue BrownJust a great well maintained camp ground. Nice and quiet at night. Beautiful trails. Nice motorcycle and ebike riding areas.
Mar 27, 2025 · Mark ReimerPretty nice little park. Looks as if they are trying to stay with the ideals that the park was started with while upgrading to more modern times. Campsites range from primitive to full hookup with electric, water, and sewer. Campsites area spacious but the roads are a bit tight.
Jul 28, 2024 · Naomi OliverVery clean and well maintained park. Georgia State Parks in general are some of the best and this is no exception. Camper sites are mostly level and have easy access to power and water hook up. A few sites are a little challenging to access due to angle off road and/or hills. I’ve seen a couple of campers struggle to get into position or end up at too steep an angle to unhook so be aware of that. The main check in and camp store is a decent distance from the campground and it’s all uphill. There is a trading post in the campground, but they’re only open Friday-Sun and limited hours. No sewage hook ups in the campground that I’m aware of. One very nice playground in the campground and one average playground over by the group shelter areas. Lake is not for swimming, but there are paddle boat and canoe rentals and fishing is allowed. On that note there are about 5-6 sites that are lakefront and if you’re into fishing you could easily fish 2 steps from your camper/tent. Several trails around the campground of varying lengths and difficulties from 0.8mi easy to 7+mi moderate difficulty. Our only complaint is other than hiking, fishing, and the playground there isn’t much for younger kids to do. There is a nice creek to play in, and there is a pool that’s part of the park, but it’s seasonal only and while you can hike to it, it’s not close in terms of walking. Final note is they have an archery field/program but that is also seasonal and I have no experience with it personally.
Mar 30, 2024 · Max BrentWe had a wonderful cabin with the best view! The trails are wonderful, and if you are into bird watching, this is the best park! The playgrounds were also the best!
