We recently spent three nights tent camping at Foothills Family Campground (two adults, an infant, and our dog), and had a truly wonderful experience, especially as first-time tent campers. Going into it, we weren’t sure what to expect, but the warm and welcoming environment quickly put us at ease. The owners, Laura and Pat, were incredibly kind and accommodating. Lauren personally helped us choose a tent site that was close to other campers so we wouldn’t feel too isolated, which made us feel much safer and more comfortable. The campsite itself was spacious, well-kept, and clean, providing plenty of room for our setup and some peace of mind when camping with a baby and a pet. The campground is very well maintained, with clean restrooms and a family-friendly atmosphere. There are lots of amenities to enjoy, an outdoor pool, a small pond with free kayaks and paddle boats, a volleyball/badminton court, a playground for kids and a dog park. They also hosted fun community events like a decorated golf cart parade and a tie-dye activity, which added to the charm and made the experience feel more festive and engaging. One downside to note is that our tent site are relatively close to the highway, so traffic noise was noticeable, especially at night. However, this didn’t take away too much from the overall experience. Another plus is the location, it's conveniently close to restaurants, grocery stores, and other shops, which was really helpful with a little one in town. All in all, Foothills Family Campground was a great introduction to tent camping for us. The friendly staff, clean facilities, and variety of activities made it a memorable and enjoyable trip. We’d definitely consider coming back!
Jul 11, 2025 · Ram PanditHad a great stay at Foothills Family Campground! It must be early in the season - there were many open spots - and thanks to Laura for upgrading us to a nicer spot, free of charge! The campgrounds are well-maintained and the power, water, sewer hookups were in good working order. Easy to back into our spot with a 22' travel trailer.
Jun 10, 2025 · Jason ArnoneWe really enjoyed our stay here! It was a nice, quiet family campground. The owners were really sweet and helpful. We tent camped and the site was roomy and right on the river. The showers were clean and included in the price which you don’t always see! Best part was the resident beaver who swam right by us! Would definitely stay here again.
Jul 07, 2025 · Rachael WawrzyniakLast week we stayed at Foothills Family Campground in Tamworth NH. It was a great experience. From the moment we arrived and checked in we were treated like family. Pat (one of the owners along with his wife Laura) lead the way to our campsite and helped us back in and set up. He probably has saved a number of marriages by doing this for his guests. When we realized that the electrical outlet was just beyond the length of my power cable he quickly brought us an extension cable and 2 bins of firewood that we purchased. Laura was great in helping us with all of the “little” things we needed that helped make our week at Foothills Family Campground very pleasant. The sites are very large and very clean. The pool was a great place to cool off on those very hot days. The campground is located near a number of hiking trails, lakes and rivers to enjoy. It’s also only 30 minutes from North Conway. I highly recommend Foothills Family Campground.
Aug 05, 2025 · Mike AllenAnother Diamond here that I wish I didnt have to write this review about because I want to be selfish and keep this place to myself. We booked this place for 2 nights and ended up extending for another. Its a very relaxing campground with clean amenities. The shower / bath house is very clean. The pool is nice. The campsites are well maintained and the owners are the best. They are very hospitable and love what they do. I strongly recommend this campground to anyone looking to get away. Its also close to N. Conway, state beach and even Sandwich (Sandwich Fair).
