Location and Accessibility

Forest View Hideaway is located at 370 Sunshine Cove Rd, Waynesville, NC 28785, USA. This address places the RV park in the charming town of Waynesville, nestled in the heart of Western North Carolina’s majestic Blue Ridge Mountains. For North Carolina residents, particularly those in the western region, this location offers significant advantages in terms of accessibility to both natural beauty and local amenities.

Waynesville is known for its picturesque downtown area, local artisan shops, diverse dining options, and a friendly, community-oriented atmosphere. Residents of Forest View Hideaway would have convenient access to these local offerings, including grocery stores, pharmacies, and essential services for daily living. The town's strategic location near major thoroughfares, such as U.S. Route 74 and U.S. Route 19/23, ensures relatively easy commutes to larger cities like Asheville, which is typically a short drive away. This allows residents to enjoy the tranquility of a smaller mountain town while still having access to the broader cultural, medical, and employment opportunities of a larger urban center.

The "Sunshine Cove Rd" address suggests a setting that might be more secluded or off the main roads, contributing to the "Hideaway" aspect of the park's name and offering a more peaceful environment. This balance of a quiet, natural setting with accessible local services and connections to larger regional hubs makes Waynesville a desirable location for long-term RV living. The area is also a gateway to numerous outdoor recreational activities within the Blue Ridge Mountains, including hiking, fishing, and scenic drives along the nearby Blue Ridge Parkway.

Services Offered

As an RV park focusing on long-term stays, Forest View Hideaway would typically offer essential services to support comfortable and extended living in recreational vehicles. Based on the provided context of a long-term rental and application process, here are the services generally expected:

  • RV Site Rentals: The primary service is providing designated sites for RVs. These sites are typically equipped to accommodate various sizes of recreational vehicles, from travel trailers to motorhomes.
  • Full Hook-ups (Implied for Long-Term): For long-term residency, RV sites would almost certainly include full hook-ups, meaning connections for 30 or 50 amp electricity, water, and sewer. These are essential for comfortable extended living in an RV.
  • Application Process for Residency: As explicitly mentioned in the reviews, Forest View Hideaway employs an application process for prospective long-term residents. This involves submitting personal information, and potentially details to confirm income, credit history, and personal references. The owner's emphasis on a "credit worthy application" and competitiveness suggests a formal screening process to ensure suitable residents.
  • Property Management: Like any residential park, there is a management component responsible for the operation and oversight of the park, including the rental process and potentially enforcing park rules. The reviews indicate direct interaction with an owner or manager (Kenn) regarding applications and rental agreements.

It's important to note that the provided reviews focus heavily on the application and rental process, and less on specific amenities. For a long-term RV park, other common services might include:

  • Laundry Facilities: Essential for extended stays.
  • Restroom and Shower Facilities: Though many long-term RVers use their own facilities, communal options are often appreciated.
  • Waste Management: Designated areas for trash disposal.
  • Mail Services: Often, parks provide a way for long-term residents to receive mail.
  • Common Areas/Amenities: Depending on the park, there might be shared recreational areas, walking paths, or communal spaces.

Prospective residents should directly inquire about the full suite of services and amenities offered to ensure they meet their long-term living needs. The emphasis on the application process in the provided feedback highlights the importance of providing comprehensive information to be considered for a site.

Features / Highlights

Based on the provided information, which heavily emphasizes the application process and management interactions, here are the inferred features and highlights of Forest View Hideaway, along with important considerations:

  • Focus on Long-Term RV Residency: The primary feature is its dedication to long-term RV site rentals, appealing to individuals seeking a more permanent living solution in their RVs rather than short-term camping. This implies a community designed for residents who stay for extended periods.
  • Structured Application Process: The park employs a formal application system requiring detailed personal, financial (income, credit history), and reference information. This indicates a structured approach to tenant selection, aiming for specific resident profiles.
  • Competitive Site Availability: The owner's statement about getting "lots of applicants for a small amount of sites" suggests that sites at Forest View Hideaway are in high demand and potentially limited supply. This highlights its desirability among those seeking long-term RV living in the area.
  • Located in a Scenic Area (Implied by Waynesville address): While not directly stated in the reviews, the Waynesville address ("Sunshine Cove Rd") implies a location amidst the natural beauty of the Blue Ridge Mountains, offering a "Forest View" as suggested by the name and providing a tranquil "Hideaway" environment.

It is crucial to acknowledge the significant and conflicting feedback regarding the application and rental process. One review describes the owner/manager as "money hungry" and "absolute scumbag" for renting a site "out from under me" after weeks of discussion and application. The owner's rebuttal emphasizes the applicant's failure to provide complete information on the application. This highlights a critical aspect of the park's operation: a strict and potentially non-negotiable application process, and a strong emphasis on the completeness and quality of applicant information to be competitive. Prospective residents should be fully prepared to submit a thorough and verifiable application and understand that securing a site is highly competitive and contingent on meeting specific criteria.

Promotions or Special Offers

Information regarding specific promotions or special offers for Forest View Hideaway is not available within the provided customer reviews. As an RV park that appears to focus on long-term residency, it is less likely to offer the type of short-term discounts or seasonal promotions typically found at campgrounds catering to transient visitors. Their pricing structure would almost certainly revolve around monthly rental rates for RV lots.

However, for individuals interested in Forest View Hideaway, it is always recommended to directly contact the park management to inquire about current pricing, available long-term sites, and any specific terms that might be offered. While not "promotions" in the traditional sense, they would be able to provide information on:

  • Current Monthly Lot Rental Rates: This is the most important financial detail for long-term residents.
  • Lease Terms: Information on the duration of lease agreements (e.g., monthly, annual, multi-year) and any associated benefits or requirements for longer commitments.
  • Availability: Details on which specific long-term RV sites are currently available for lease and if there's a waiting list, especially given the "competitive" nature mentioned in the reviews.
  • Fees: A breakdown of any additional fees, such as utility charges (if not included in base rent), background check/application fees, or other park-specific charges.

Given the strong feedback from the owner regarding the necessity of a "credit worthy application" and being "more competitive against other applicants," prospective residents should prioritize submitting a complete and robust application. Direct communication is essential for obtaining the most current and relevant financial and application process information before considering Forest View Hideaway as a long-term living option.

I am Kenn, so please disregard the star rating as I'd like to rebut the previous negative review. Anonymous Reviewer and I did have discussions for about 2 weeks in regards to him renting an RV site from me. I sent him an application to rent and had a difficult time getting it back from him. When he finally submitted it, there was absolutely no information provided to confirm his income, credit history or personal references. He left those lines blank. His renting from me was dependent on a credit worthy application. I never promised him the site without reviewing his application. I get lots of applicants for a small amount of sites all the time. I informed Anonymous that next time he needs to be more responsive to what is being asked of him and to provide way more information on applications to be more competitive against other applicants.

Since he doesn't have a page for his other park "Dogwood Meadow" , I will give a review for this one. Kenn is a money hungry guy. He spent weeks talking to me about renting a long term space at one of his lots, had me apply, told me the date worked and everything, then rented it to someone out from under me. Absolute scumbag. I wouldn't trust him with a penny - much less rent from him. Avoid at all costs.
