This isn't just another RV park; it's a meticulously crafted oasis, a "hidden gem" as many delighted campers attest, offering an experience that transcends typical campground stays. Run by the incredibly hospitable Gary and Tricia, Franks Point Of View boasts an intimate setting with just eight spacious sites, ensuring a personalized and peaceful retreat amidst the breathtaking landscapes of the Talladega National Forest.
It's a place where every detail is considered, from the well-appointed sites to the genuinely warm welcome from the owners. As one glowing review puts it, "This RV park is one of the rarest of rare hidden gems—the type you want to rate 20/5 stars. But you also DON’T want to…because you’re suddenly a greedy, needy camper who loves the place SO MUCH that you (almost) don’t want to share. Not. Joking." This sentiment perfectly encapsulates the unique allure of Franks Point Of View: a spot so perfect, you'll almost want to keep it to yourself. It combines the serenity of a mountain top escape with thoughtful amenities and a level of personal care that makes every visitor feel like family.
Franks Point Of View LLC is majestically perched at 703 Wilkie Rd, Ashland, AL 36251, USA. This address places it atop Boucher Mountain, offering unparalleled "point of view" vistas overlooking the expansive Talladega National Forest. For locals across Alabama, this location provides a perfect balance of accessible seclusion. While it offers a truly "quiet, rural, peaceful, dark-sky kind of place," it remains within a reasonable drive for many, allowing for stress-free weekend getaways or longer, more immersive stays.
The drive to the campground itself, though possibly involving a "gravel road" and a "little hill" as one reviewer mentioned, is part of the charm, culminating in "an awesome view and fantastic experience." Ashland, Alabama, provides the nearest local conveniences, and while the campground feels delightfully remote, it's not entirely isolated. Crucially, the location offers incredible proximity to vast hiking opportunities within the Talladega National Forest, inviting guests to explore the natural wonders of our state right from their doorstep. This strategic positioning makes Franks Point Of View an ideal base for Alabamians looking to disconnect and immerse themselves in nature, all while maintaining easy access to essential supplies and the comforts of their RV.
Franks Point Of View LLC excels in providing a curated selection of services that elevate the RV camping experience, blending essential conveniences with unique thoughtful touches. - Full Hookup RV Sites: All eight spacious sites are equipped with 30 & 50 amp electric service, water, and sewer connections, providing full convenience for any RV size. Sites are described as "level and well-laid gravel pads."
- Individual Covered Pavilions: A standout feature, "Each site has an individual large covered pavilion!" complete with a picnic table, offering shade and a dedicated outdoor living space, even for tow vehicles.
- Fire Pits: Every site includes a fire pit, perfect for evening campfires and enjoying the beautiful sunsets.
- Hammock Hooks: Uniquely, each spot has "hooks for a pair of hammocks," encouraging guests to relax and soak in the views, especially at sunset.
- Office with Amenities: The main office building provides a welcoming communal space featuring a "pool table, gaming table with everything you could want," and a "borrowing library," perfect for entertainment on any day.
- On-site Shop: A "camp store" offers a "fabulous assortment of Tricia's preserves, honey, and wine," as well as "local goods (jams, jellies, syrups)" and "organic goods," providing convenient access to delicious local products.
- Excellent Connectivity: Guests report "best reception with top speed service" using Starlink, and good reception for "about 60 tv channels" with an antenna, which is a rare feat in a rural setting.
- Pet-Friendly Environment: The campground warmly welcomes "well-behaved" dogs, with opportunities for "off leash" play for truly "good camp guests," making it a favorite for furry family members.

- Spotless & Well-Maintained Grounds: Reviewers consistently praise the "spotless" and "well-appointed FHU sites" with "level and well-laid gravel pads," reflecting the owners' dedication to quality.
While Franks Point Of View LLC is highly sought after due to its limited number of sites and exceptional reputation, they do offer competitive and clear pricing, which in itself can be considered an ongoing value proposition given the high quality of the experience. Based on available public data, specific "promotions" in the traditional sense (like percentage discounts for specific dates) are not widely advertised, but their consistent rates offer excellent value.
Their general pricing structure makes them appealing for various lengths of stay:
- Daily Rate: Approximately $36 per night for a full hookup site.
- Weekly Rate: Around $195 per week, offering a significant saving compared to daily rates for longer stays.
- Monthly Rate: Approximately $595 per month, which is highly competitive for a full hookup RV park of this caliber, especially for those looking for an extended "home away from home."
It’s important to note that "reservations are required" due to the limited number of sites (only 8), so booking in advance is highly recommended, particularly for weekends and holidays, which may have a "2 night minimum stay" or "3 night minimum stay" for holiday weekends. They also welcome well-behaved pets, and while the "camp store" offers local products for purchase, these are not typically presented as promotions but rather as part of the overall unique offerings. Their value comes from the exceptional hospitality and amenities at these rates.

Customer Reviews
This RV park is one of the rarest of rare hidden gems—the type you want to rate 20/5 stars. But you also DON’T want to…because you’re suddenly a greedy, needy camper who loves the place SO MUCH that you (almost) don’t want to share. Not. Joking. Run by the ultimate gentleman, Gary, and his charming wife, Tricia, the park boasts a total of…wait for it…8 spots. Yes, 8. You’re likely to immediately think, “Boring.” You’d be wrong. Sorry. There’s an office with a pool table, gaming table with everything you could want and a borrowing library as well as HAMMOCKS! More on that in a moment. There are also multiple hiking trails, corn hole boards and horse shoes for outdoor fun, and more. And should you need ANYTHING? Gary and/or Tricia are there and willing to help, their presence unobtrusive but felt in every small detail. Have (well-behaved, not-tippy-barky-please) dogs? BRING ‘EM! Their dog, Nellie, is likely to say hello. And if they’re truly good camp guests, you can let your furry family run off leash. This is our dog’s most requested campground ever! And the 8 sites? Well, remember the hammock thing? Each spot has a fire pit, picnic table, covered pavilion (!!!) and…hooks for a pair of hammocks. You’ll want to utilize this at sunset. I promise. Heck, I’ll even pinky swear! NOTE: Do NOT miss Blair Family Farm & Market, either! Just down the road is a local farmer who raises the BEST beef ever (and we’re from a ranching family!). Set-the-bar quality meats and a handful of local goods (jams, jellies, syrups) are always available. We bring an extra cooler to stock our home freezer. At their prices, it’s just smart. (And it means we eat well between visits!) And did I mention the quality? It bears repeating. Basics: 30 & 50 amp service, full hook-ups, ample parking, level and well-laid gravel pads, shaded areas and we received about 60 tv channels with excellent reception. We utilize Starlink and had the best reception with top speed service; no interruptions. Bottom line? This is tied as our #1 favorite campground in the United States. We come here to get away, for the friendship growing with Gary and Tricia, and because, well, every time we pull up, it feels like we’ve come home.
Frank's Point of View is such a special place. The location sits on the top of a mountain overlooking the Talladega National Forest and every night was a spectacular sunset during our four-night visit. Gary and Tricia are the most welcoming and hospitable owner-hosts imaginable. There are just eight spacious sites on their farm property and they have done a commendable job in constructing roomy well-appointed FHU sites that are spotless when you arrive! Each site has an individual large covered pavilion! This is a quiet, rural, peaceful, dark-sky kind of place, so come with your best Zen attitude. Miles of hiking trails through the property, a fabulous assortment of Tricia's preserves, honey and wine in the camp store, and a farm store for beef on the grill right down the road round out the experience. In of our many years of camping, this one takes home the award for the most pleasant stay in a beautiful place with beautiful people!
We were travelling to an area nearby and the Frank's were able to accommodate us on a days notice. This place was absolutely stunning! The view was incredible. The site was good sized, level, and had a covered area with a picnic table. The office/ campstore had a few odds and ends but they also had their own assorted jams, relish, pickles and other all organic goods. Everything we purchased was really yummy. We can't wait to return when we can stay longer.
I’m almost reluctant to tell you about this hidden gem in Ashland Alabama, yet I love to see family businesses thrive. I would just love to keep it to myself. We are in town for a wedding and just wanted a place nearby to park the camper. There’s only one issue with this place, we don’t wanna leave! The view is wonderful, the sites are unreal with your own awning in which to park your vehicle! Just incredible. They harvest their own fruits and veggies to provide local fresh, pickles, wine, honey, jams and more! The Franks are wonderfully friendly. Before my wife and I even had the water hooked up we both said we were coming back! What a joy to find. They only have 8 slots so book in advanced! I will mention one minor detail, this is more of an adult destination. Large space for the kids to play in but not much more than that.God bless and enjoy!
Very thankful my wife found this campground. We stayed 3 nights and plan to go back in the future. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Great views with flat sites.
