For New York locals seeking a reliable and engaging outdoor getaway, Frost Ridge Park in Le Roy, NY, stands out as much more than a typical campground. Formerly known as the Frost Ridge Campground and once part of a historic ski area, this expansive property has evolved into a year-round recreation and camping destination that prides itself on family fun, extensive amenities, and a long-standing tradition of entertainment. Located conveniently close to major highways, Frost Ridge Park offers a tranquil, natural escape without sacrificing accessibility to the best of what Western New York has to offer.
The park caters to a wide spectrum of outdoor enthusiasts, whether you are a dedicated RV traveler, a traditional tent camper, or someone looking for a cozy rental unit. It is an established, all-ages community where the management and staff are often cited by long-term guests for being highly accommodating, professional, and swift to address any issues—striving to keep the grounds operating like a "Swiss Watch," according to one positive review. This commitment to excellent service is a key part of the Frost Ridge Park experience.
The natural setting, situated at the base of the historic Frost Ridge Ski Area, offers beautiful, spacious sites that ensure privacy. With ongoing improvements and updates under current management, the park is continually enhancing its grounds and facilities to provide a better, cleaner, and more enjoyable experience for all guests, solidifying its reputation as a premier destination for camping and outdoor activities near the Finger Lakes and Rochester regions.
Frost Ridge Park is ideally situated for easy access from across the New York region, making it a stress-free destination for weekend trips or extended stays.
The exact location is: 8101 Conlon Rd, Le Roy, NY 14482, USA.
Its positioning near the New York State Thruway (I-90) and Highway 490 is a major advantage for local users. Travelers from Buffalo, Rochester, or the Finger Lakes region will find the drive straightforward. Specifically, the park is conveniently located just off I-90 at Exit 47, making the transition from highway travel to campsite seamless. This proximity to the highway system means the campground is only a short drive from significant urban centers:
The location in Le Roy, a charming town known as the birthplace of Jell-O and home to the Jell-O Gallery Museum, offers a blend of natural beauty and local history. Furthermore, the park serves as an excellent basecamp for exploring some of New York's most treasured natural attractions, including Letchworth State Park—often called the "Grand Canyon of the East"—which is only about 30 miles away. The convenience of easy, direct road access, combined with its peaceful, rural address, makes Frost Ridge Park a practical choice for any New York camper.

Frost Ridge Park is an exceptional choice for New York locals—from the greater Buffalo and Rochester areas to the Finger Lakes—because it successfully merges the desire for a relaxing nature retreat with the need for convenience and high-quality entertainment. It provides a reliable and clean home base for exploring the rich recreational and cultural offerings of Western New York, including Letchworth State Park and the historical attractions of Le Roy.
The park's suitability is rooted in its infrastructure: full-hookup sites for large RVs, spacious tent camping areas, and essential amenities like laundry and an on-site store. Crucially, the park’s commitment to an engaging atmosphere, with an outdoor pool, a variety of recreation spots, and its heritage of live music, ensures that there is always something to do, creating a true vacation experience rather than just a place to park a trailer. While, like any large campground, there have been some logistical challenges noted by guests—particularly regarding site assignments and cancellation policies—the overwhelmingly positive feedback highlights a dedicated management team that works hard to provide a welcoming, functional, and fun environment. For locals seeking a dependable, activity-rich, and easily accessible outdoor destination, Frost Ridge Park offers a well-rounded and appealing solution.
Camped there last year in a tent all summer . Was amazed at Javi & Ellie they were over accommodating, offering us a heater when it got cold. And what these 2 do to keep this Campground running like a Swiss Watch is totally Amazing. Grounds are kept Beautiful, entertainment is Wonderful . If you have any issues, they act immediately! Very welcoming environment! Will enjoy camping here for years to come. THANK YOU BOTH and your staff for such a wonderful experience!❤️
Jun 03, 2025 · Joseph PowlowskiBe aware you do not get 100% of your money back when canceling a reservation, even when there is an emergency situation which requires you to be out of town. I had a reservation starting 8/25/25 thru 9/2/25, called to cancel last week providing plenty of time for someone else to take my site. I did get 50% back which is better than nothing. Another issue, I had friends stay here and when they checked in the campgrounds gave their site to companies needing the sites for the summer, they didn’t even inform my friends ahead of time. My friends ended up in a couple sites that were small they were on top of each other, there were issues with the electricity as well. I would not recommend this campground.
Jul 18, 2025 · Renee GauthierVery nice the staff are great the people that camp there are very friendly and it doesn't matter what culture you are everyone is very friendly. I go camping alot and this is one of the best places. Very clean bathroom, store, pool and game room. They have awesome activity and best of all they do activities for the children. We had six campers and had such a awesome 4th of July weekend.
Jul 07, 2025 · Josephine LadyRedHorrible campsite, small, all rocks, picnic table was thrown against a tree completely couldn’t use as it was falling apart, goose poop all over the sand of the beach entrance to the pond, if your not a permanent site you get what they have. We complained and no call from the owner all the girl could say was I don’t book you and we had issues.
Aug 16, 2025 · Jammi VideanIt was one of the worst camp ground experiences I have ever had the service was horrible because the cashiers at one of the shops was ignoring me and having a conversation with someone for 10 whole minutes. The bathroom was the most disgusting bathroom I have ever seen there was a hole in the wall there was mold the toilet was broken and drenched in pee and there was this putrid smell in there the only thing that was good there was the arcade.my suggestion. Don't go here
