The resort caters to a wide variety of campers, from those traveling with large RVs to guests seeking a rustic tent camping experience, and also offers seasonal sites for those wishing to make it a summer-long home base.
Adventure Bound Southwoods operates seasonally, typically welcoming guests from May 1st through October 31st, perfectly encompassing the prime New York State camping season. Staff here were very pleasant. Reservations were easy and amenities were all working. My only complaint is that the sites are too close together. This is an rv prodominent camp ground and we watched our neighbors try to cram their rvs into spaces that should have been bigger. We tent camped…. We’re literally the only ones tent camping and even we felt like we barely had space on our lot. Aside from that- grounds were clean!
Sep 06, 2025 · Lissa MillsCampground. Mostly seasonal people. Spaces for overnight had no trees and broken down picnic tables. Need to have a passcode to get through gate after 5 which is a hassle and costs $5. Staff leaves at 5. Two swimming pools are clean but close at 8. I appreciate the adult only times on one of the pools, but they are limited to 4 hours. why not all adult on one and kids on the other?
Jul 08, 2025 · B CatThis is a very quiet campground, seems pretty secure with the gates coming in. Swimming pool, store for shopping card games for adults. I mean it has a lot of stuff but the thing I like about it the most it was very very quiet. But since being taken over by different owners it has changed a little. The swimming pool is pretty bad. Really needs a cleaning. Not like it used to be. New staff are very nice.
Aug 10, 2025 · Frank MarcellinoVery nice, and well maintained facility! I am late in the year, so I will not comment on the swimming facilities, but everything else is super! Great clean utilities: 50 A, good water, sewer, wifi, cable tv and decent phone in most areas. A nicely equipped store, staffed by friendly people. A lot of seasonal set ups that are generally meticulously kept and also cordial to overnighters. It’s close to my home, I only came here as my granddaughter would be playing in a lacrosse event near here, but I will be back, just to relax!
Oct 11, 2024 · DJ KnappThis is a beautiful, VERY large campground. The grounds are gorgeous. The landscaping is pretty amazing. We stayed for one night in early September as we were passing through, with a full hookup, back in site. The sites are spacious, there is MUCH more room here than at other campgrounds! Lots of playgrounds, clean pool. The bathrooms are older, but very clean. The showers are a bit small, but also very clean. There’s more than one laundry room, but the one we saw was very nice. We received a very warm welcome at check-in. WIFI was solid. We didn’t see the entire campground, but we did walk around. We walked around the permanent sites. There are RV’s as well as modular homes. We didn’t see any RV’s or homes that looked uncared for or falling apart. All the RV’s and homes we saw were in good shape. The lots here are spacious – both for permanent sites and temporary sites. The permanent residents have gardens, sheds, decks, patios and other accessories, all of which have plenty of space and do not encroach onto neighboring sites. Nothing here looks cramped, or crammed in. We did NOT have a problem with flies, as was noted in prior reviews. All in all, an unusually beautiful and spacious campground with great amenities. We loved it. Highly recommended!! We would love to return.
