For residents of New Hampshire and neighboring New England states, the towering presence of Mount Monadnock is an iconic landmark and a perennial call to the outdoors. To truly immerse yourself in the Monadnock State Park experience, finding the perfect basecamp is essential. That's where Gilson Pond Campground, a highly-regarded facility managed by the New Hampshire State Park system, offers an unparalleled opportunity for a genuine Granite State escape.

It is a place where you can pitch a tent, enjoy a cozy campfire, and be ready to tackle the famously popular summit trail first thing in the morning, all without the rush and hassle of daily parking reservations at the main trailheads.
The atmosphere here is one of friendly, supportive community, where the staff are known for being both knowledgeable and welcoming. Whether you are an experienced peak-bagger or introducing your family to the joys of New Hampshire camping, Gilson Pond offers the perfect blend of natural seclusion and necessary amenities for a successful weekend getaway or extended vacation.

Great camp ground. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Sites are welcome maintained. Bathrooms are very clean and the showers are cleaned daily. Great place to take your family for a small getaway weekend. Camp and hike Mt Monadnock. This definitely a must for those who want to be able to get up early and tackle that hike. Camp store is well stocked with various camp needs. If you need dinner items best make sure you pack those as they are not able to sell perishables.
