Grand Oaks Village About

For many residents across Michigan, finding housing that balances affordability with a sense of community is a significant consideration. Manufactured home communities, commonly known as mobile home parks, represent a distinct and often cost-effective housing option that can provide a private dwelling within a neighborhood setting. If you're exploring such opportunities in the greater Lansing area, specifically in Grand Ledge, Grand Oaks Village is a community that may come across your radar. This article is designed to offer a clear, informative, and factual overview of Grand Oaks Village, helping prospective residents in the Michigan region understand more about this particular mobile home park.

Mobile home parks have evolved to offer a unique residential experience. Typically, residents own their manufactured home and lease the land it occupies. This model can often present a more accessible entry point into homeownership compared to traditional site-built homes, potentially reducing upfront costs and ongoing property taxes. For individuals and families in Michigan who are weighing their housing choices, gaining a comprehensive understanding of local mobile home parks like Grand Oaks Village is an important step in making an informed decision about their next home.

Grand Oaks Village is situated at 817 N Clinton St, Grand Ledge, MI 48837, USA. Grand Ledge is a city located primarily in Eaton County, Michigan, known for its unique sandstone ledges along the Grand River. It offers a blend of small-town charm and suburban convenience, being part of the Lansing metropolitan statistical area.

The park's location on N Clinton Street places it within a residential area of Grand Ledge, providing a quieter environment while still offering access to local amenities. For Michigan residents, especially those considering a commute, Grand Ledge's position ensures reasonable accessibility to larger urban centers like Lansing. The proximity to major roads facilitates travel to work, schools, shopping centers, and healthcare facilities. While direct public transportation details to the park itself are typically limited for mobile home communities in similar settings, personal vehicles are the primary mode of transport for residents. This location allows for a balance of serene living with the practicalities of accessing necessary services and recreational opportunities in and around Grand Ledge, such as Fitzgerald Park and the Grand River itself.

We have lived here for over 4 years. Started out great but the last 3 years have been hell. If you want something fixed in your home, forget about it. Maintenance takes up to six months to get back. We finally said we were going to set up an escrow account until things were fixed because our 3 year old daughter stepped down from our front porch and twisted her ankle on the huge crack (pictured) in the pavement that I have asked be fixed since we’ve been here. Our BACK PORCH is rotting and unsteady and they came to look and have done nothing. (Also pictured. The carpet is cheap and not at all glued so if you move furniture, it’s all stretched and wrinkled. I have asked they fix these issues. Now, conveniently, we are being evicted. I have 2 children and they gave us 30 days. Which is fine, I believe it’s a blessing in disguise. Management, Kathy, is just plain mean. She stalks and harasses the residents in this park and is extremely rude to visitors. She is argumentative and doesn’t seem to care at all about other people or their concerns. Not a nice soul. The owners could care less about their tenants and making this place a community. I wouldn’t recommend living here unless you are desperate. Ridiculous rules that are changing CONSTANTLY! Raises in rent when they won’t fix their homes that are falling apart or putting people in danger. I am still here and in the process of leaving and we literally cannot wait. This pace is awful for my mental health. If I could give it no starts I would. These reviews speak for themselves. Don’t move here.

Rarely lose power here and it's normally pretty quiet. Decent place to live. Still a decent place to live at. Neighbors are helpful and it's usually pretty quiet here. They are making more improvements as well. New asphalt and new trailers to rent or buy. New park manager is great so far. Still a nice place to live.

New manager Kathy pleasant at first now RUDE to residents, never available and when she is, very RUDE. Have lived here almost 4 yrs. at first was a great place as new owners SEEMED to care however there is NOTHING for kids to do except HARASS the people who do live here, younger kids play in roads as parents don't care, cuss and swear at mobile home owners. Trailers are nice but nothing to write home about, cops are here frequently as "drug dealers" are apparently here frequently. Rules in place but only enforced for some others can get by with just about anything. Wouldn't recommend unless your desperate like I was.

2018:It seems management allows the kids living in the park to throw rocks around the vehicles. They allow the kids to climb into trailers that are being torn down. So basically the kids living here run the park. I would not recommend. 2021: Visiting for a bit. This mobile home community hasn't changed much. They allow kids to play out by themselves after dark when the rules clearly state that the kids are suppose to be on their own property or have adult supervision. Seems like they need new management. Maybe one that isn't scared of their tenants!
