I was only planning on being there for a year!! Stayed six years and wished I could have been there forever. This was my first renting experience in my life, and I must say Marge and Jim were always pleasant and professional. If I had a problem, they were quick to address it and have the concern taken care of. I loved the complex and neighbors and mostly felt very safe. I highly recommend renting from such wonderful people as the Clark’s (They do it right) Carole Peters
I have been living at the E 29th St location for almost 2 years and have had no issues with either Marg or Jim. They are very kind people/landlords that take care of the property and take pride in it also. I have had a couple of minor issues with the home I'm renting and all I had to do was call Marg. She was on it in a heartbeat and had people here to take care of the issues as quickly as they could. I have had no problems talking with nor contacting them. As long as you do your parkt and are prompt with your rent there shouldn't be any problems. I highly recommend renting here.
I lived in Grand Homes at 4212 E 29th Street in Des Moines, IA. This is the trailer park owned by the same company on the east side of Des Moines. I would not recommend living there as long as Marj and Jim Clark own the property. Marj is very difficult to work with and is very conniving. Now praise be to God that I don’t live there anymore I just was given my deposit check back. She is charging me for damage done by a previous renter. Complaining about paint that doesn’t match or was hard to match. However the previous renter left the paint that matched the walls in the laundry room cabinet. She is also deducting from my deposit supposedly lost rent, I was out of her place on the last day of the month. And because they saw a red car in the parking lot they assumed I was in the trailer so then the cleaning person couldn’t get in. Clearly they don’t know how to knock on a door or call to see if I was in there. Also charging me for Sunday labor charges because again they assumed I was in the trailer on the first of the month. The long and short of it I wouldn’t recommend living at Grand homes or their other property
This is an excellent park. The pros are the small senior community and beautiful looking park. The cons are the interstate noise and availability to grocery shopping and job market.
