This was a one night stop while traveling but the campgrounds were great. Nice sites, many right on the lake. The camp host was friendly and helpful with details on the campgrounds. Plan on staying here again for a longer stay. Like the space and layout. It has a boat ramp and would be ideal for fishing from boat or shore. We just enjoy the natural surroundings and peace it offers. We enjoy most of the Corp of Engineer campgrounds we have stayed at, and this is on the top of our list.

This probably isn’t a popular facility for children. There are no playgrounds and the data is less than hit and miss, so no evening Netflix and such. Phone service for calls is a little better, but still questionable throughout the campground. The town of McCormick is pretty small, but you have a grocery store and a well stocked hardware store. Some people might see this as a shortcoming. But this is one of the best places to get away from it all. The spaces are roomy and pretty private compared to most. Meticulously maintained by some of the most hospitable hosts you will ever meet too! The lake is quieter than most even in the summer, allowing for a peaceful sunset or sunrise depending on your spot. My only complaint is the campground is only open part of the year. We camp all year long and are really disappointed that this location can’t be one of our choices in the fall/winter.
