Customer Reviews
Very peaceful, clean & quiet campground nestled in an oak hammock. Options for power hookup and primitive camping are available. The owner was so very kind and accommodating when our original plans fell through. We tent camped and really appreciated the clean restroom and showers. I cannot wait to visit again.
Hitching Post a great campground located very near to the Cross Florida Greenway, Santos area. East of the I-75 land bridge, very close to the Florida Horse Park. Hosts Barbara and Bill were super nice and attentive. Sites were shady, easy in and out with our 4 horse 31 ft box gooseneck. 30 amp electric and water at each site, plus plenty of room for primitive. The pens (6) were very convenient and easy to use. Plenty of room for high ties or portable pens. Trail access was easy and close, 5 minutes walk away. We loved it and will return again! Barbara and Bill have added a shower house that is super clean and well appointed!
What a gem! As a woman who camps solo, I have never felt so safe, the entire camping area is securely fenced, beautiful oaks, shaded pens for the horses, and only a 5 minute ride to amazing trails. The owners, Barbara and Bill have found their niche! Helpful and accommodating without intruding. Being horse people themselves, they thought of everything. Having electric and great water on site makes the experience even better! The bathroom is nicer than many high end hotels. Everyone in our group agreed that Hitching Post Trails is a winner and will be coming back as often as possible.
I had such a lovely time staying here. The luxury bath house is my favorite. Barbara is super sweet and their property is well kept, shady, and peaceful. It's super close to the Florida horse Park and Florida Trail. If you're hiking thru, I highly recommend staying here.
What a beautiful place to spend a few days as we made our way west. Basic campground, really good for horses and their guardians. We have no horse, but had a good time talking with them that did. Water and electricity was all we needed. The hostess was extra helpful as I asked, "where do you get your diesel truck repaired?" She gave me the number, and picked me up and brought me back to get the truck after repairs done. I'll never forget such kindness. Beautiful place, beautiful people ❤️
