Holder Cove Campground is ideally situated in Tellico Plains, TN 37385, USA, placing it directly within the stunning embrace of the Cherokee National Forest. For local Tennesseans, this means an easily accessible escape that feels a world away from urban centers. The drive to the campground is part of the adventure, winding through scenic routes that hint at the natural wonders awaiting your arrival. As one happy camper noted, the location directly on the Tellico River is a major draw, offering picturesque views and immediate access to water activities.
While Holder Cove offers a secluded feel, it's not entirely off the grid. Tellico Plains, a charming vintage mountain town, is the closest community, providing a convenient stop for last-minute supplies or a meal before or after your camping adventure. However, it's wise to stock up on groceries and essentials before arriving, as the main supermarket in Tellico Plains can be a bit of a hike, as a previous visitor pointed out. For those with trailers, it's worth noting that maneuvering might require driving a little further up the road to get the right angle for pulling into your site. Despite its peaceful setting, the campground remains accessible, making it a viable option for a weekend getaway or a longer vacation for anyone living in or around Tennessee.

Customer Reviews
Arrived at 4:00PM on the first Friday of October. Beautiful weekend. Only 2 out of the 7 sites were taken. By nightfall, 2 sites were still available. People with trailers need to drive a little further up to turn around to have the right angle to pull in. Fire pits needed to be cleaned out and site #7 was missing the grill grate. Short walk up the road caught some good sized trout. Overall clean & level. NOTE: Buy wood from the guy in Green Cove. $10 for a LOT of wood (half pine/half hardwood). Way better prices than in Tellico Plains.
Beautiful spot directly on the Tellico river. There is a country store down the road a spell but the supermarket in Tellico Plains is quit a hike so load up before you get here.
Great place to get off grid and enjoy the surroundings. To the lady that complained about "not a good place to fish" because of staying hung in the rocks and trees.... next time try fishing in the water...
Pretty good place to camp. Not a lot of shade, but right on the water and only 7 spots for tent or small RVs. Only $10/nite, vault toilet. Not power, no water.
Tellico is awesome...the campgrounds are a bit tight but whatever, I'm camping.
