We had a nice time - the weather was brr … chilly but it was worth it. We expected it to be since it was January and the country was expecting freezing temperatures. We tent camped- tip bring your own drinking and cooking water. They have two restroom areas, showers with codes needed for access, playground, seasonal nature center, pavilion can be scheduled. Fishing, biking, hiking, swimming. Dolphin sighting, sea life and shark teeth, shells, and so much more. Mayport Naval base is across the river- and base noises should be expected - helicopter training, loud speakers, and plenty of ships passing. Some sites are not as level as others. Some are on the park’s main road (inlet side). Fire ring and electrical hookups at sites. It was breezy of the ocean/ water. You can drive on the beach with a 4x4 vehicle. Two waters to be on - the inlet and the ocean. Inlet you can kayak and canoe. Several reviews mentioned sand fleas- at THIS TIME OF YEAR THERE WERE NO SAND FLEAS or bugs. So we enjoyed our visit!
