Promotions or Special Offers

As a state forest campground, Jackson Lake State Forest Campground typically operates under the standard pricing and reservation policies set by the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR). While specific promotional deals or seasonal discounts are not commonly offered for state forest campgrounds in the same way private campgrounds might, there are inherent advantages that serve as ongoing "offers" for Michigan residents.

Firstly, the cost of camping at state forest campgrounds is generally more affordable than many private campgrounds, making it an excellent value for those seeking an economical outdoor getaway. Secondly, the rustic nature of these sites often means fewer amenities, which translates to lower overheads and, consequently, lower daily rates for campers. This affordability allows more Michigan families and individuals to experience the beauty of our state's natural resources without breaking the bank.

Furthermore, holding a Michigan Recreation Passport grants you access to all state parks and recreation areas, which often includes discounts or waived fees for certain activities within the state park system, though specific camping fees at state forest campgrounds are usually separate and paid directly at the campground. It’s always advisable to check the latest DNR guidelines or contact the campground directly for the most current pricing and any applicable state-wide passes that might offer benefits. The "special offer" here truly lies in the unparalleled access to serene nature and a peaceful camping experience at a very reasonable price point for locals.

No tent caterpillars a month after the above review. No roped off sites 5 months after the above review. I’m sure rangers would have put a stop to it. Signs clearly state no reserved spots. Pulled in at 10 pm on a Friday night and quite a few spots to chose from! Peaceful, other campers are respectful, nice fire pit, and many sites have view or access to the edge of the lake. Only thing I’d change is the noise from M-33. BUT....being right on M-33 is how and why we stopped here for a quick overnight. So I expected to hear cars drive by. I’d stay here again!
