Welcome, fellow New Jersey residents! Are you looking for a convenient, beautiful, and refreshing escape without the long, frustrating drive? The Garden State is home to some incredible natural havens, and one gem that truly stands out for local campers and outdoor enthusiasts is Jaggers Point Campground, nestled within the serene embrace of Parvin State Park.
This comprehensive guide is designed to give you a clear, engaging, and factual overview of the campground, helping you plan your next local adventure. Jaggers Point offers a chance to disconnect from the hustle of daily life and reconnect with nature, all while staying close to home.
Jaggers Point Campground is a well-established and beloved camping area located within the beautiful Parvin State Park. Known for its picturesque setting and accessibility, the campground is a fantastic option for both seasoned campers and families looking for a local weekend getaway. The campground sits right on the shores of Parvin Lake, offering scenic views and a tranquil atmosphere that makes you feel a world away from the busy corridors of New Jersey.
The Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) established the campsites at Jaggers Point Campground in the 1930s, meaning the area has a long history of providing natural recreation to New Jersey communities. The setting is surrounded by a mix of pine and hardwood forests, creating a classic South Jersey wooded experience. It caters to various camping styles, including tent and trailer camping, ensuring there is a spot for nearly everyone.
Customer feedback often highlights the welcoming atmosphere, with one user specifically calling out the "awesome and very helpful" staff at the front desk. Campers appreciate the overall "great campground" experience, noting the well-maintained facilities and the surrounding "gorgeous" area, which boasts a significant number of trails to explore. While some regular sites are noted to be close together, the dedication to keeping sites and facilities clean remains a strong point.
Jaggers Point Campground is conveniently located in the southern part of New Jersey, making it highly accessible for residents across the state, particularly those in the Central and South Jersey regions. Its location within Parvin State Park in Pittsgrove, Salem County, places it in a region often referred to as the 'Pine Barrens Gateway,' though the park itself has a distinct ecology from the main Pine Barrens. The park's proximity to major state roads allows for a relatively easy drive, avoiding much of the complex backroads that sometimes make wilderness areas hard to reach.
The campground’s address is in Pittsgrove, NJ 08318, USA, making it a simple destination to navigate to using GPS. For those traveling with gear or an RV, access to the camping sites is via drive-in access, simplifying the unloading and setup process. The location offers a balanced mix of feeling remote enough for a true camping experience while remaining close to necessary amenities. For example, a customer review mentioned finding a close source of firewood "within a mile of the exit on the way to Dollar General on the left," which indicates that essential supplies are not far away for last-minute needs.
The key feature of the location is its proximity to Parvin Lake, with some sites offering stunning lakeside retreats where campers can enjoy the peaceful sound of "waters lapping at your tent flap in the morning." This lakeside setting elevates the camping experience from a simple overnight stay to a genuine nature retreat.
Jaggers Point Campground provides a solid range of services designed to ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for all guests. The park aims to bridge the gap between rugged outdoor adventure and necessary modern comforts. Services include those for both the campsite and essential hygiene facilities.
While the facilities are generally praised for their cleanliness, one minor but honest critique from a customer review mentioned an issue with the water, noting a "lot of rust in the bottom of the toilet" and hands smelling "almost metallic after washing up," suggesting minor maintenance issues with the plumbing system that could be improved.
The unique features and highlights of Jaggers Point Campground are directly tied to its setting within Parvin State Park, focusing on nature-based recreation and the lovely lakeside location.

Overall a great campground! I didn't love that some of the trails could only be accessed by going through people's campsites or that this wasn't shown clearly online on the map. The pet sites were spread far enough apart but the regularly sites were pretty close to one another. The surrounding area was gorgeous, and there were quite a few trails to choose from, and the facilities were well maintained!
May 24, 2025 · Ariel PriceWoman at the front desk is awesome and very helpful. Campsite was clean. If your getting here late, the closest home with fire wood was within a mile of the exit on the way to dollar general on the left. Close restrooms clean and with showers. Pipes need to be replaced somewhere because there's a lot of rust in bottom of toilet and your hands smell almost metallic after washing up. Other than that absolutely awesome place that's nitpicking.

Jun 19, 2025 · Karen KurtzCamped out for a few days. Was nice and quite, though the bathrooms got trashed and weren't cleaned until the following day. Can't blame them for getting trashed, but they didnt come clean at 3pm as stated on the maintenance schedule. It was nice cause we were alone on the loop we stayes on, and i hotta say it gets dark as dark can be at night. Couldn't see anything once the darkness set it. The trails were well maintained and easy yo traverse, and lots to look at.
Oct 01, 2021 · pig hivGreat camping. Recently remodeled bathrooms, with hot showers. They were clean Friday, and by Sunday morning they were still ok. It was busy but ok. Camping sites are huge. We had 4 families and ended up only using two camping sites despite having reserved 4. Great place for a run, kids riding bikes, lake fishing and camping. There is a playground by the water side. None of the campsites have a lake view, so don't worry about renting the spots by the lake. The spots in the back are as good as the ones by the lake. I wish we had brought kayaks or a canoe.
