Promotions or Special Offers

As a North Carolina State Park campground, Jones Lake State Park Campground operates under a standardized fee structure determined by the North Carolina Division of Parks and Recreation. Therefore, it does not typically offer traditional "promotions" or "special offers" in the way a private business might, such as percentage discounts or seasonal sales. The fees are set and are consistent across the state park system, though they can vary based on campsite type and amenities (e.g., full hookups vs. primitive sites).

However, it is important for North Carolina locals to be aware of the following regarding rates and policies:

  • Standardized Pricing: Camping rates are published and are generally consistent. As of May 1, 2025, RV campsites with electric, water, and sewer hookups cost $45 per night, while tent/trailer/RV campsites with no hookups cost $30 per night. Group campsites are $75 per night.
  • Reservation System: All reservations are made through the state park system's online portal (ncparks.gov/reservations) or by phone. Booking in advance is highly recommended, especially for popular times like spring and fall.
  • Passes and Discounts: While direct promotions are rare, eligible individuals (such as senior citizens, veterans, and active-duty military) may qualify for discounted rates on entrance fees at some state recreation areas, though camping fee discounts may vary or require specific passes (e.g., America the Beautiful passes). It's best to verify any applicable discounts directly with the park or the reservation system.

For the most accurate and current information on camping rates, reservation availability, and any specific policies, North Carolina locals should consult the official NC State Parks website or contact Jones Lake State Park directly. Any changes to fees or reservation procedures are always publicly announced through official channels.

We found Jones Lake State Park to be an ideal spring vacation camping spot . Being a State Camp Ground, the facilities were very clean with large private showers. It was ideal when we were there in the early spring. This whole area gets very hot and full of bugs in the summer. The lake offers a place to swim or fish. However, there is not a lot to do except relax and enjoy being alive. We had an RV and were delighted to have water, electric, and sewer hook up. There are not many spots, but those that are there are spacious with ample naturalized areas between sites. We will be back.

Nice campground. I visited this campground back in 2018. Since then, it has had a new bathhouse built and campsites renovated. The bathhouse has hot showers and a heater which is nice for cold mornings in the early spring weather. We hiked the bay trail going clockwise which was quite diverse. Starts off on a sandy road, giving more of a woodsy feel after 2 1/2 miles. The last 1/2 mile which includes some views of the lake, and includes part of the shorter loop trail was muddy and flooded. Park rangers and office staff were friendly and very accommodating. Would highly recommend this campground.

First time to this state park, and was not disappointed. Sites were large. Very little shade, which wasn't a problem in an rv, but may get hot tenting. Bathrooms were clean and updated.

Extremely quiet in December. Only spent one night but appreciated the flat and spacious RV sites with full hookups. Very nice bathhouse. Walmart close by. Be aware of the gate closing times so you don't get locked out.
